    England v Germany

This England side is no where near the skill level of any of the 4 teams that played last night. This game as a 1-0 win all over it, for either team, although penalties do look a strong possibility.

We have some talented youngsters but the Capybara won't let them off the leash, he sticks to the pass sideways and back method.
Nothing wrong with our team just the manager.

Play the talent, Bellingham, Grealish, Sancho from the start, these 3 would destroy this poor German side.

Remember tho it’s the hope that gets you! Well it does for me born in 67, it’s all I’ve ever had, at least you old lags have seen silverware!

Valid point '67. At least I've seen us win two FA Cups, one League Cup, nearly do the double, play in Europe, England win the World Cup. Been slim pickings since the seventies though, both at club and international level.

I'm 68 and still have horrible flashbacks to the Albion v QPR League Cup Final at Wembley. Everytime we go 2 up in a game that memory rears its ugly head. Watching Albion for all these years you realise that you have experienced some of the greatest moments of joy and happiness but also some of the most soul destroying and miserable moments in your life. When they are playing well and winning and I'm in the ground I get the feeling this is the only place I want to be. Then when it all goes tits up I hate the place and think why the hell do I put myself through it. Can't wait for the new season to start.

I think that we do have the skill levels of the teams that played yesterday and in some cases probably more. The problem is, are they going ti be allowed to show their undoubted talents under this manager?

Yep, remember it well. Wasn't there but watched it in the TV lounge at college. Half time and thought that it was as good as done. How wrong I was! There have been other real disappointments. The FA Cup Semi-Final loss against Ipswich. Losing both the FA and FL Cup Semis in the same season, again to QPR in the FA Cup, who were only one division below us this time, and then to Spurs in the FL Cup. Being relegated to the third tier when on the last day of the season it was us or Leicester for the drop. Didn't I take some stick over that! There have been the highs as well but I tend to think more of the 'what ifs' more than the successes for some reason.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England's reported XI for tonight:

    Pickford

    Trippier, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw

    Phillips, Rice

    Saka, Sterling, Kane.

If so this is a disaster that will lead us to extra time and the dreaded pens.. So negative ☹️

The 1978 semi at Highbury hurt but the 69 one at Hillsborough was worse being as we were cup holders.
Both us and Everton got to the semis again and we both got knocked out.
That late goal by Allan Clarke was a sickener.
