If we write off the LC group games as possibly being played with current personnel that leaves 29 days left to strengthen the squad before we kick off in the League.

Plenty time but the clock is ticking.
we really need to progress in the league cup, 100% we need to be aiming to get to finals in cups

hate when teams perceive the LC as pre-season friendlies

We need to get out that group, no excuses. Last 2 seasons you could have said we've had Hearts and then St Johnstone in our group, so even though it was all-round unacceptable that we didn't progress, you could at least use that as some sort of excuse. This season Arbroath are our closest rivals in terms of league position, there is no excuse for us to not progress from this group. Not saying we have to win every game, wouldn't surprise me to see Dick Campbell be able to squeeze something out of the game at Tannadice. But Kelty, Elgin and East Fife should all be dispatched easily even if you put one of us in the dugout.

I like that TC has this kind of challenge early on in his time as Head Coach, we'll get to see what he is all about. We've been massively unimpressed with Lazlso, Neilson and then Mellon in these group stages. Only Ray actually managed to get us out of the groups, 2 years in a row too. The rest of them have f ucked it big time.

Anyway...Messi is a free agent, probably the type of player we could use in that attacking midfield role. Has already scored a hat trick at Tannadice, has trained at St Andrews, shouldn't be that hard to convince him to come.

If that Tweet is true that his price increases after a number of appearances.

I know I always come across on here as a Kerr Smith superfan, but this kid is going to be a big star in football (if he keeps his head on straight)

I think its when you look at Neilson at 17 - tipped to also have a good career and has had EPL interest. He came in a looked decent with some areas to improve.

Smith came in at 16 and I'll be honest I didn't see too many weaknesses in his game, apart from the obvious things you'd expect from a 16 year old in terms of physique etc. His first touch, ability to pass, range of pass, pace, defensive movement and decision making appear to be miles ahead of what you'd expect someone of his age to have.

We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves as we've seen it all before with youngsters that get over hyped too soon, but it is no coincidence that so many teams have shown an interest in him.

I wasn't saying it was acceptable. Definitely not. Basically saying 29 days before the first 3 league points are up for grabs.
