It probably helps all players but some more than others. I suspect what Whitfield meant was it'll have a more limited effect on a Connolly than it will on a Chalmers.

Connolly was much improved at the end of last season, if passion and belief was all you need he'd be an international 😎

Since we're on the subject of CB'S as things stand we have Edwards Mulgrew Reynolds Connolly Smith. Paying all 5. Money. Every week. Not sure how many are mentors though it's possible our midfield mentors could also mentor other players?

This is exactly where I'm at as well. We may be proved wrong, who knows, but f*ck me, we're Dundee Utd not Man Utd. Can we no just get a team on the park with round pegs in round holes first?

Agree 100% other teams have good youngsters but don't bore everyone about there youth academy as Utd do get the first team sorted first Ogren, Ashgar, and Courts then if youths are good enough they'll break into team.

Couldn't tell you what other clubs have if I'm being honest I don't care.

Going back a decade or so and using Darren Dods as an example, he was a great servant for us but very limited so do you think all this analytic nonsense would improve a guy like that? Give him a bigger heart?make him dribble like Ronaldo or sprint like Overmars?

I'm all for it at youth level but stuff like that wouldn't work on a Butcher or a Connolly so stop wasting time and money please.

You should care as us not doing it would give and advantage to our opposition every week. Would analysis of his performance improve Darren Dods? Probably, yes, as it would give him insight into how he could be fitter and also be in the right areas of the pitch more often when he needs to be (for example).
