class album still class Out of the Blue (and into the fire)

She was lying on her back
    with her lips parted.
    Squealing like a stuffed pig--
I was going through the motions
    faking the emotions,
and wriggling around like lizard in a tin.

Denmark were my dark horses (see page 3) but the momentum is all with the Auld Enemy. Denmark do have a much better attacking threat than Ukraine but to have any chance they'll have to score first. Their defence is the issue but if they can get ahead England will have to push players forward which could open up to the Danish masterplan.

The depth of squad the English have is a pretty big advantage for them, along with home advantage but we live as ever in hope.

    Spain Italy

Everyone assumes it'll be an Italy England final and it may well be but these tournaments have a habit of throwing up surprises. I described Spain as a team in transition, and that's still how it looks, probably not quite good enough to win it. They don't have that killer striker in front of goal. They dont have that lightening quick ability to cut defences open any more but Morata finally looks like he's woken up so maybe never say never.

But they will keep the ball and they will make you work. They will frustrate you. But they will probably cough up an opportunity for you as well. Will Italy take them if they come? Probably.

Odds suggest Italy v Scum final, but you never quite know, Denmark v Spain anyone?

Yeah. If I had to put the house on one team it would be the pasta munchers.

Ukraine were totally knackered from the off last night England expects,Denmark will be a different animal. The last time they played at Wembley(9 months ago)they had 57% possession, won the game and England had 2 sent off.

The tears will make the suffering until then worth it however.
Hate to point out that England beat Croatia in the group, not the Croatia of 2018 but still a team that beat Scotland convincingly and almost got past Spain coming back from the dead.
England also beat Germany, not the Germany of old but still a formidable opponent.
They beat the czechs who with schick lit up the tournament, didn't beat Scotland but Scotland were well up for the game and a draw suited both.
Whether we like it or not England are flourishing under Southgate, the team are galvanised, as usual its the circus surrounding it that annoys the rest of the UK but if it was Scotland in the semi it would be the same if not worse, Craig brown the day before the tournament said Scotland should at least make the semi final and maybe even win the trophy, don't get me started on what the Scottish media did to billy gilmour, same mistakes as English media with Owen, Beckham, Rooney, put them up there in the spotlight and they minute they can't play the team is beat before a ball is kicked.

Just trying to look beyond the natural desire to see England lose and focus on what's actually happening.

You give England's previous opposition credit because of results they previously had against Scotland?

Yeah I realise they beat Croatia and Germany. Thanks for that. Both teams you've just admitted are not as good as they have been. Germany have been utter sh*te this tournament and Croatia are a million miles away from the team that was in the last World Cup. So back to my point, let's see how they fair when they come up against probably the only proper decent team left in Italy. They've been very very lucky with the draw they've had. Playing teams who couldn't muster more than a single win in the tournament in the knockout phase. Much like the World Cup where they drew the mighty Columbia then Sweden. It really was 'coming home' that year as they only had Croatia to beat before the final. Sound familiar?
