You didn't answer my question though! Would you rather have one really good midfielder on 3k than 3 who can't pass the ball on 2k....

Great debating with you tonight, how it should be. Mañana amigo.
Sorry mate. The z's got me. 100% would rather 1 quality player on 3k. Would have to be a sure thing though. The way we knew Shanks was going to smash it for us. We just knew. That kind of signing isnt easy to come by. And if it goes wrong its a nightmare.

Think everyone agrees that analysts are useful and probably help to improve various areas.
After a few years of pish where fans have been mocked and been through hell, at a time when fans were asked for money, never mind being asked to fork out for season tickets and new strips, whilst being asked to support an untried and untested rookie supervised by a person who has never managed a football team. Said person wants us to buy into his philosophy.
Sorry but I don't pay good money to sit and watch analysts, all I'm seeing is the club investing in assets off the pitch when we need to keep the existing ones and indeed add to them.
Maybe further down the line when we have a decent team on the pitch getting results, the extra 1 or 2% will make the difference between getting to semis, or finals but unless they are remote controlling the players with their iPads, I can't see how this will help the current squad now.

Tam says that Peter Pawlett will be a key player this season.

ADS was correct yesterday that Oxford United remain keen on Jamie Robson and another poster was on the money that MK Dons are interested in LOA.

One thing i will say about MK Dons is their owner has a very low opinion of Scottish football and normally offers peanuts for our players,if i remember correctly he did this with one of our staff a while back but i cannot remember the player involved.

The reason i mentioned Mark is i have watched this player make the same errors over and over again throughout his contracts at Tannadice so what exactly are the analysts being paid for?.
Same could be said for the boy next to him at left back. A kid who should be benefiting from analysis. The bottom line is that all the analysis in the world cannae teach boys not to make brainfart decisions on the pitch and that's where it matters.

Agree but also what would analysts make of Shanks shooting from halfway or Cifti celebrating before putting it in the net at Ibrox, it may be useful for fitness, formation and food but can't teach flair and fast thinking
Just realised I used a lot of F words there, I can think of another regarding the priority for analysts right now

It is all about your perception of what they do I guess. Its been said before but they are common practice amongst clubs thesedays. I remember a documentary on Steven Gerrard as he started his job as u18 coach at Liverpool. There was a section where he went in to visit two guys who were analysts for the first team. I dont remember it word for word but he talked about how important these guys were in this day and age and even as he got into his mid 30s he needed them more than ever to be able to keep on top of his game.

I have no idea how its used in our club but he talked about being able to go to them and ask for anything (eg if a player wanted clips of every time he attempted a cross or a through ball) and these guys would put it together and chat through it with the player and talk about how they could do it better.

Stevie Grieve was interviewed on dutv and he said something similar.

I think these kind of guys are a requirement at clubs these days.

Going back to Jamie being linked with Oxford United, they still don't have a left back and have just sold a centre half to Bristol City so now have money available to replace him and bring in a left back too.
That appears to be why they are back in the hunt for him.

I think you need to read my post again and show me where I've said that?
