The English regiment(Devon and Dorset's) who took over the most dangerous area in Northern Ireland where the Gallant forty twa served namely West Belfast including the Falls Road never had the same good fortune and lost a man during the transition period.
They were out in the streets with the Black Watch showing them the ropes but unfortunately one of them never noticed a trip wire.

Fair play to you GB, I guess that would have some influence on your feelings about the English. As far as the football goes, I'm Scottish by passion but have no I'll feeling to the English though. I do get annoyed by the arrogance of the commentators of course but like I said, a lifetime of practice means I can live with it. I turned up for my shift tonight and not one English guy in the building, but all the polish lads watching on their phones willing England to win, go figure?

Did you notice at the end of the first period of ET the fourth official put up 6 minutes of added time, the ref played 7 and seemed pretty slow to whistle as England were on the attack.

Never a pen. But this is England at Wembley.

Yeah, I thought the ref was definitely a 'homer'.

Which is a shame, because generally the refereeing has been good quality up until now.

tbh when I saw it at the time my gut reaction was it was a pen, when I saw replay it was clear he’d just thrown himself down. We’ve almost become conditioned now to if a player feels a contact he drops to ground and gets a free kick. Not every contact is a foul. Harry Kane’s diving was ridiculous last night, never got called out once.

Maybe it's cos my kids are English as was my mother, maybe it's cos I've lived so long south of the border. But the English hating on here is very Dee like if I'm honest. I'd much rather England won than the cheating Italian *******s! #Roma84 37 years and never forgiven!

Strangely my gf is from England, and has been in Scotland for approx 10 years, but when it comes to England national team at football she supports Scotland, to extent she was desperately wanting Denmark to win last night. I had friends who moved to England for work in their mid twenties and actually became more fervently Scottish and anti English (im using that in a football sense) due to finding it intolerable when down there when the national team was involved. One has a season ticket for wolves, English wife, children now, not spoken to him for years, not sure if he still feels same.
