There was a woman on STV news last night with a total non story of how she was still unwell after having had both Covid jabs, and having trouble with her heart. She was a rather short, obesely fat woman and I’m quite certain her overall health had little to do with Covid!
What I have said all along ,what percentage of people have genuinely been ill from covid or died that were fit and healthy…!!!

The media seem to be very evasive in how they report deaths from covid ,a year ago they would state the actual number from their favoured method of measurement now it stated this week deaths have gone up by 2 thirds …..2 thirds of what exactly,it’s good the figures are low but at least be consistent in how you report the numbers ,this make me more sceptical and I think I have reason to be.

I did see that report last night and I thought exactly the same ,she didn’t get into this condition training for an Ironman event ,I think I’ve stated before that a lot of people don’t want to help themselves they’ll see the vax for a gateway to carry on their lifestyle and put it away until it eventually catches up ,and it will ….

If I ever get a call from track and trace, will tell them to F..... Off as I have two jabs.
I read this Forum most days, seldom post but feel obliged to reply to your post. My wife and I have followed all the guidelines regarding wearing face coverings, hand washing, social distancing, etc. We had our first jab in mid-April and our 2nd in the first week of June. We attended a family wedding last weekend and were contacted earlier this week by Track and Trace to notify us that one of the other guests had tested positive for Covid. We then did PCR tests ang got the results yesterday. My wife's was negative, mine was positive. We're now self-isolating until the end of next week.

The vaccine does not stop you catching Covid - it is designed to boost your immune system to fight the virus. Given the way I've been feeling since Tuesday I'd hate to think how I would be feeling without the 2 jabs!!

Thanks for the personal experience. My question is about how you and your wife cope with your illness. If she manages to avoid catching covid is that because you are isolating from each other within your home? Hope you get back to full health soon.

Appreciate you may not want to divulge, but age range, perfect weight, over weight, any significant underlying......I'm assuming you are white and male.

Have you ever had the flu?

    How does it compare?

How were you feeling before you were told you were positive?

    Genuinely curious.

The question is how many of the 128,000 + people in the U.K. who have died having had a positive Covid-19 test in the last 28 days
    also had co-morbidities.

Thanks for your good wishes. Having tested negative with the PCR test my wife felt unwell yesterday and took a rapid lateral flow test which proved positive. It was hardly surprising given that we had travelled almost 450 miles by car to get home from the wedding to self-isolate. While it solves the problem of self-isolating from each other at home it wasn't the result we wanted.

I tried to reply to your post earlier this morning but something obviously went wrong as it hasn’t appeared on the Forum so here goes again. I’ll try to answer your and others questions in this post.
My profile: White, male, height 5’11”, current weight 16 stone, age 69, play golf (indifferently) 2 sometimes 3 times a week, reasonably fit, high blood pressure controlled by medication. I’ll let you make up your own mind on whether this constitutes a high risk.
Timeline: Wedding was on Friday 9 July. My wife and I were contacted by Track and Trace on Monday evening and I started to feel unwell on Tuesday evening with blocked sinuses, throat like sandpaper, dry mouth, very high temperature and sweating profusely, tight chest, shallow breathing, body aches and pains and a deep hacking cough; I’ve had similar with a severe bout of flu.
Travelled home on Wednesday and ordered a PCR test kit en route. Kit was delivered on Thursday, took the test and posted it back on Thursday, received a positive test result on Friday.
On the day of the wedding I didn’t dance, never do (2 left feet). I spent the evening outdoors with a few beers and some red wine, chatting with other guests at a reasonable social distance. At the ceremony everyone except the bride and groom and the person conducting the ceremony wore face coverings. After the ceremony, everyone went outdoors for photographs, etc. and to allow the staff to set-up the tables for the meal.
Not all the test results are known yet, but from our table we know of 4 positive results (not including my wife). The person to my left, the person to his left and I all tested positive so we are working on the assumption that the person to my left was asymptomatic.
Hope this reply goes through this time and answers your questions.
