If Dundee Utd FC want these guys to manage/coach our players, then Dundee Utd FC should pay for their coaching badges. Simple imo.

Whats the issue then? Sounds like your making an issue out of something that might not exist.

It stinks of a bit of nepotism yes. But a youth coach moving into a 1st team role is hardly rare.

This is not a simple case of a father helping out his son to deliver milk or pick tatties etc this is Dundee United we are talking about and i'm perfectly entitled to voice an opinion on it.

As an example Micky Mellon funded his own course at ST George's Park.
Voice an opinion yes, but **** me mate you're banging the same drum on nearly every thread without starting a new thread to bang it again. You've made you're feelings known on the matter, it won't change anything anyway, how bout a bit of peace?

Look at the club's journey since Wee Jim stepped away from management/coaching. We have had some highs but by phuck we have had a lot of lows. ST and McNamara and his entourage sickened me when the truth came out. The point I'm making is that the club have tried so many managers/coaches since Jim McLean's day. Some have taken us to the heights, albeit very briefly, and some have been the most abysmal dross. Now the club is going in a direction that is unknown to us. Who knows how it will pan out?
Dundee United Football Club doesn't belong to any owner, chairman, director, coach etc. This is our club. This is the one constant over the years and that is the way it will always be. All of the above are simply entities in the clubs journey. The supporters will always be there.
I hope and pray that our current situation turns out to be an inspirational piece of work by the current mob and they produce a team we can all feel proud of. I totally understand the doubts and frustration of some people - lets face it, this is what being a DUFC fan is like. Looking back to our glory days brings the lyrics of a James song to mind, "If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor".

Coaches with the top A Pro is costing loads, similar to bringing through your own youth players. A team can bring through their own youth coaches successfully.

Eventually you want them all at the top grade on paper. To be honest I am only a badge or so behind them and the badges mean nothing. So many people get these badges without being good coaches. But I for one would love to see every coach involved with our team to get the full pathway of development possible.

That way, as with youth players, we will unearth gold in coaching also. Which is nothing but a positive for our ethos of youth player development also.

I so hope your wrong in the long run about your misgivings about the senior management, I am sure you hope your wrong too, but we have been burned before and its right to be vigilant, once it goes wrong. But right now.. has it went wrong yet? A lot of bluster and worry, but I see nothing more than that. Might want to take a chill pill and give it a wee bit to see how it goes. Then if it goes wrong we can get the pitchforks out and you can say "told ya so".

Bang on mate. The problem is we have a huge amount of absolute fannies among our support who are happy to roll over and have their baws tickled. There are far, far too many subservient types among our fanbase who will sadly accept anything the club throws at them.

Could you imagine Aberdeen or either of the Edinburgh teams pulling this ****? Their fans would tear the stadium doon ffs!
