You used the term drama queen when it became known that McNamara and Jackson were pub crawling in St Andrews and turning up at training hungover.

You're now using the same term about fans who are genuinely concerned that we might be sleepwalking into a bad place.

    I rest my case.
Good how boring to bring up unrelated things

Rest your case? After posting incorrect and inaccurate nonsense, feel free but I'll correct you

I've definitely called you a drama queen in the past, so maybe that is where the confusion comes never used it about the situations you mention though

Houston never lost the dressing room, he was an excellent manager for us, he never lost a game to Falkirk outwith a cup tie on pens, won every league match against them.. They did beat us under Levein by that score but it was a blip early in Levein reign.. Houston had players playing for him and to the end, always to the end

The reality is stoke, you were very quick to turn on one of our best ever managers in Houston, early in 2011/12 after he had finished 3rd, won the cup then finished 4th and lost let players that summer, and because we had a wee bit of a slow start in the league you jumped on a wee bandwagon on here listening to rumours, was a bit embarrassing to see... However you were proved wrong quite fast and me right as we powered to 4th playing excellent attacking football, again he lost more players and the next season started well but injuries and stuff saw us draw a few more, we were still likely to go on and finish top six but Houston left anyway and McNamara took over and we sneaked 6th

Didn't take much notice of the Jackie and Jackson rumours, I was rightly backing mcnamara based on his record prior to GMS and Armstrong being sold, as you know at that point he was on course for our 3rd best league season ever outwith 83/87 before those sales, and had us in a 2nd final in a row, for that reason only I gave him backing, the other stuff didn't interest me as I'm sure they were doing that when we were winning games too so nothing to see there

The one occasion I was misguided was about ST, he had oversaw a very good period since ET passed and done a lot of things the fans wanted and said a lot of things we wanted, especially in the sevco situation, the fans sang his name at that time, and I gave him the benefit as have no inside knowledge, unfortunately a lot of stuff was true and it's sad it led to that

We are all concerned about things, we all want new signings, many of us don't see us as being as weak or ill prepared as those who are thinking we are relegation fodder either,it's not the same as the relegation season at all, it's a lazy comparison imo

Interesting debates here. My view is Clark, Butcher, Pawlett and even Harkes have more to offer in a different type of football, Reynolds as well. Do i want them as first picks - probably not but maybe 2 of them with some youth or new attacking minded personnel. There is no doubt great concern at the running of our club and worry.

im not a "happy clapper" but im interested to see how freeman, mochrie, meekison and chalmers get on this season. Not to mention duffy, neilson, smith, hoti and even the forgotten one glass. then there is appere and watson too.

I would like this team v dons

    Sieg
    K. Smith Edwards Mulgrew
    Freeman Mochrie Fuchs Hoti/Butcher Robson
    Chalmer Shanks

    That has potential!!!

As for Appere - i hope its an niggle or something the guy had the build and attitude, but maybe he has lost that i dont know - on th eleft with shanks he was good not everyones cup of tea but pulled players wide giving shanks space.

I feel if you look into things long enough your brain finds what it wants. Maybe we are fvcked? but i feel its history repeating - i read the courier and the dees are flying 4 wins (an amazing 3-0 in dingwall with one dee mad poster still on his way back) mental rhumbas finishing in top 4 well above us etc etc etc etc - In the midst of life we are in death/debt ETC - sweet and tender hooligans that they are.

Last time i read this type of stuff was the pre admin 1. Its clear covid has affected orgens liquidity. its also clear we need a playmaker. if we get one we are ok maybe not top 6 but ok. I like Freeman, K Smith, Hoti, Mochrie, Chalmers, Duffy - they cant all play in same team at start surely but maybe by end of season they will?

I do remember going to Perth first game of season and folk on bus saying who the fvck is christian dailly.

Shedka - you have called me worse and vice versa but that was a long time ago. Houston never lost the dressing room i agree - he did however become short sighted. what has he done since though?

Jackie played some of the best football ive seen at utd. Motherwell away was sublime. I have grown tired of the whole situation but i do blame ST for allowing it to all happen at that time. We could have won a trophy ffs.

Good post shedka. Hope your young kid and wife/partner are well mate

I'm not looking for a Ralphie or a bannon, just give us someone who offers something different. On our budget? what is our budget? as the 6th biggest club in Scotland we should be able to unearth gems as we have previously no?

We appeared keen on him and TC admitted to that after he signed for Hibs because he said something along the lines of we were not prepared to break our wages structure for him.

    Connolly
    Reynolds
    Butcher
    Harkes
    Pawlett
    Clark
    Sporle
    Appere

There are 8 players we could happily move forward without, leaving space and wages for quality signings to come in and dovetail with the existing players and youth breaking through. Ok not all of these players could have been moved on in the last 2 years but many could and still could be. We're paying a lot of players x money when we could have fewer players and pay a bit more for much better quality.

So no Jake Doyle Hayes or anyone like him because we have Harkes Butcher and Pawlett on standby in case Mochrie Meekison Hoti Smith and Neilson turn out to be not quite ready.

I hope they are ready and I hope they do rip up this league. But if we get relegated this project or experiment will go down in the history books of our club as a situation many saw coming but were ridiculed for saying so.
word for word great post IMO

So I'll ask you again, where has anyone said as you claim "that United will only sign KIDS to sell on".

No one has ever said that.
I said chick said The reason he thought utd would not sign greg stewart was because he was 31 and utd could not sell him on you say this is me twisting stuff again? The actual words chick used was he thought it was because he was 31 with no sell on prospect now obviously you see what I have said is a twisted version of what chick said I can't see it and thought I was the one who had a few pints

Every team will buy players to sell from top down but will also sign players to strengthen squad who can be bit older etc like signings utd have made this season so far.
