Well I think it’s a lovely tribute to acknowledge the fans who have sadly passed on. Players come and go but fans can’t change their colours and it’s generally a lifelong passion.
Football is nothing without the fans and it is very touching to see a thread like this & long may it continue.

Shaun was a regular at matches and battled his condition bravely until the end.

You seem to miss my point. I wanted to have a thread like this years back. The point I'm making is that Rich (not Wendun) said it was inappropriate and that only MM members should be commemorated. I know you lads are thick but I was trying to highlight an inconsistency. When Rich ruled against me every poster who contributed agreed with him. How times (and MM opinions) change. Some years back I asked BigRich why MM wouldn't post tributes to some lifelong Millers when they died. Rich stated that it was MM policy that only those Millers who had been active on MM got a mention. He said to try and cover others was impractical and in his view wrong in principle. Contribution to MM was the deciding factor. Every poster - several of whom are still on here - agreed with him and the consensus was my idea was "daft". Rich is an honest guy; he'd confirm the truth of this. I thought about it and decided Rich and the consensus view was right and that it only made sense to mention people with direct links to MM, regular posters or at the very least members. What was right then is still right today and this nonsense is just pathetic virtue signalling.

Some times it's better to just keep quiet, write nothing and accept that times have changed!

Being insensitive to that can make you look really pathetic! I will expect you to respond to this but I do warn you in advance that I won't take anything other than an apology.

He was a loving husband and father, who followed the Millers for over 50 years

Ken is the granddad of our own Jacob Gratton, who we know will have already made him a very proud man.

Mark was a massive Millers fan who sadly passed away suddenly, but peacefully, surrounded by his family.
