    John Barnes

According to John Barnes if we are in a relegation fight this year, It will be because of the fans and not Steve Bruce. Of course we are, We are the ones out on the pitch following a dinosaurs instructions.

If we're in a relegation battle it will be because of under-investment by Ashley/Charnley coupled with Bruce playing 5 at the back against teams like Sheffield Utd who hadn't won a game in 20 matches or whatever it was

....aye it’s all the fan’s fault. Jesus wept.

Order of blame according to the ‘experts’:
    1. The fans
    2. The players
    3. The cabbage
    4. Fatboy

Actual order of blame is 4, 3, 2, 1 - the complete opposite

The only blame to attach to the supporters is to those that keep paying to maintain the principle cause of our problems at the club.

All of these so-called experts who are ex-players are the same when it comes to having a go at Newcastle fans.

They just do not understand the feelings and the passion involved otherwise they would keep their mouths shut.

You only have to listen to the likes of the late, great Gary Speed,Big Al, Rob Lee, Warren Barton and SuperMac and players such as these who had the same passion for the club as the fans.

I assume, by extension, we'll be responsible for every point we pick up too?

I do think that a negative atmosphere at the ground - and abuse on social media - clearly has an impact on player performance. But even the most negative fans who actually pay money to go to watch don't go along hoping to boo the team for 90 minutes. It's the ****e they see unfold before them, and what it says about the wider state of the club, that sets off any negativity in the stands.

It's also notable how easily placated we are as a fanbase. We've never managed to organise a boycott, despite multiple attempts over the last decade, and any (admittedly rare) run of wins or good performances usually has us giddy. I was genuinely excited at the start of this transfer window thinking that, after the run at the back end of last season, if we signed Willock, Mario Lemina (who we were linked to at the time), hung onto and integrated Lejeune into the side, and picked up a striker who could provide adequate cover for Wilson, then we'd have a 'good' season i.e. not battling relegation. Instead, we may get Willock in time for the first game, and there's no real evidence of us doing much more than that. Consequently, I'm going into the season feeling pretty pessimistic... But I guess John Barnes would probably blame this future pessimism for our failure to sign players throughout the transfer window too.

Barnes can't tell me anything. He failed at as a manager everywhere, even as part of the "dream team" at Celtic - which is no mean feat due to.the backing he received. Arrogance deflection and lack of insight even indirectly claiming rascism.

You ought to try the Emirates Stadium following a couple of Arse-anal defeats to witness a subdued atmosphere.

There is absolutely no feeling whatsoever for their team or club when things are going wrong.
