Incidentally, Saudi has a fully air conditioned tented city. it is currently empty. It has enough room for 3M people.

I wonder if Afghanis of of the correct persuasion of Islam to be accepted by the Saudis......

I actually admire your sunshine and rainbows view of the world. Unfortunately, history teaches us, that being soft and easy ends up very badly in the long run.
Allow yourself to be used/manipulated, and people/governments/countries
    will do so.
As I said earlier...read what I’ve written...not what you want me to have written.
You will not find me supporting your ‘open door policy’ anywhere.
You can call it ‘sunshine and rainbows’ if you like...but I’m not the one who believed in the Brexit ‘unicorn’ and since when did you support the arrival of the ‘women/children/old/infirm’? All I recall you and GP approving of is to ‘cherry pick’ the ‘fittest’.
As Swale has intimated...the importance of the world’s rich providing properly targeted aid/support is equally crucial and please note...I said the ‘world’s rich’ and ‘properly targeted’.

I don't think I have ever stated on this forum that I supported cherry picking the finest - or fittest, but I won't deny that I admire the German approach of getting to the pool first and extracting those that will make the greatest contribution to their economic growth - and indeed pay the pensions of their growing aged population via taxes.

I don't in all honesty feel an obligation to support the halt and the lame of the world, especially when their wealthy neighbours shrug their shoulders and do little to support their fellow muslims: but I don't want this to appear to be an "-ist" issue by bringing skin colour or religion into the debate. I am an equal opportunity excluder.

Excuse me? Where have I ever said chery picking the fittest asylum seekers?
If you are an asylum seeker, it shouldn't matter if you are a 3 foot dwarf, with gay tendencies wearing a rams shirt.
I have made many comments, on the fact 85% of them, are males 18-30 yrs old. WHERE ARE THE WOMEN/KIDS?

The cherry picking you may be hinting at. Is IMMIGRATION. Totally different subject.
Who should be fast tracked into the country? A 30 year old Romainan nurse, or an out of work 30 yr old Romanian turnip grower?
One is for the benefit of the population, in a job with places waiting. Will pay tax in a well paid job and house themselves.
The other will be straight down the benefits office first and even if finding a job, will need benefit boosters to survive.

It's what all sensible countries do, in vetting candidates for immigration. The EU though doesn't believe in that.

Where aid is concerned, yes I agree. The UK though it seems, always wants to go above what seems to be acceptable to other countries.
Take Germany, it under cuts us in aid and defense spending. Yet is the richest country in Europe.
Much of our aid has been either been squandered or hijacked by the people it was sent to.
The Afghan president it seems, fled the **** storm, with a helicopter stuffed with cash. I wonder how that poor refugee got that money?

Have we not been talking about ‘economic migrants’ since about 5.23 this evening then?
As regards ‘Aid’...which bit of ‘properly targeted’ did you not understand?

    Define rich.

By personal names, or by country?

    Be careful here.

2nd time this week I mention quotes on the forum. Look at the rA quote in your post TTR. You ask "Define rich". The word "rich" doesn't appear in your quote from rA. Your response bears no resemblance or connection to the words you quoted. Basically, a pointless post. You might like to explain.............

Bit random, as your question seems unrelated to the quote, but...

...you know perfectly well I’m talking about countries and world leadership. Let’s say the G20 for starters and go from there.

MA’s example of the tented city is a classic example. It’s as simple - and correspondingly - as complex as this...if the World and it’s leaders could set aside their differences, prejudices and quest for greater and greater riches, and actually work together we’d have probably cured covid, cancer, global warming, and a host of other world problems along with the abhorrent and immoral differences between the First and the Third Worlds.

A tad hippyish and a bit Jesus Christ - without the pomp and ceremony - I know. I’m sufficiently realistic to doubt it’ll ever happen...but I’d rather be accused of idealism than the narrow minded, selfish, survival of the fittest ‘beliefs’ that currently typify our and other leaders, not to mention a minority of posters on here.

    Yes, I get that.
It's somewhere over the rainbow, with magical unicorns etc. But if it's your dream, then I hope you get it.
But the G20 is a very interesting answer.
Russia/India/Saudi Arabia/ China/Japan rather stick in my throat.
It's all very well expecting the same countries over and over to do something. But certain countries will never do bugger all in reality and if you think, they are going to cough up, you're being naive
