He spouts same nonsense about lack off football posts, you’ve complained about it yourself yet we hardly see any football posts started or added to, other forums have same shyte every week, team for Saturday or man of the match, ref watch, it’s always the same, people should either post new topics or accept what’s on and either ignore or contribute,

I’d make the most of it, if the SNP get any more powers forums like this may be a thing of the past 😂
I've accepted the forum is mainly non football and gonna try no get involved we political posts. It's hard to generate a fitba discussion with 5/6 active posters. Been a member on here for donkeys so saw the good and the bad. Prefer the groups on Facebook for the only reason as they are popular and fitba based.
Ps I could also argue its the same ****e on here every week also just no involving fitba.

I do not think that happened.
At that time there was political pressure to get the cost of these large scale projects off the Government balance sheet.
PFI contracts were originally introduced by the Conservative Government but they never used the scheme.
However the Blair Labour government from 1997 used PFI contracts on a wide scale
A lot of people condemned PFI contracts but they had a lot of good points. At the end of a 25 year PFI contract the building or road must be returned in the same condition as it was when it was newly built. This means that the building or road must be kept in ‘tip top’ condition and not left to deteriorate due to a lack of maintenance.
The dual carriageway from Claypotts Roundabout to Arbroath was built under a PFI scheme and it was finished six months ahead of schedule. Potholes are promptly repaired under the terms of the PFI scheme otherwise the companies who tendered and won the PFI contract will not receive their monthly payment.

I agree it’s the same stuff on here, but it seems to be what the regulars want to discuss, careful you don’t swear on the Facebook forums or you’ll be back here

The posters Facebook football forums also tend to set up the same topics very week.
I am a member of the Islay Community Noticeboard Group which is a private group with over 5,600 members most of whom do not live on a Islay or have a very distant connection. The resident population of Islay is about 3,000. As far as the local Islay members are concerned nobody is allowed post anything bad about Calmac ferries or the 9 and soon to 11 whisky distilleries situated on the island.
Last Thursday the main ferry on the Kennacraig to Islay ferry route the MV Finlaggan which is ten years old developed a serious problem with the turbo charger on one of its engines resulting in it being withdrawn from service for almost two days. Tourists travelling to and from Islay had their ferry journey cancelled as priority was given to ‘life line’ commercial vehicles on the second ferry the MV Hebridean Isles which is thirty six years old also sailing on the Kennacraig to Islay route.
There was not a cheep about the MV Finlaggan being withdrawn from service as it only affected tourists.
Unfortunately the Ileachs do not seem to realise that the Tourist industry on Islay is the lifeblood of the island and a major seasonal employer on the island.

Been thinking about governments in general and I am not too happy with the way things are going. This forum seems to me to allow people with differing points of view to discuss things. I have worried that parliamentary democracy is being corrupted by all political parties and the people are being misled by the supposed leading parties in the various governments. SNP got about 50% of the 64% who bothered to vote at the last election. That's 32% of the electorate, nowhere near a democratic mandate for their main policy of independence.

Give politicians too much power they don't give it up.

Sturgeon saying she can't rule out more restrictions yesterday.

Liberty and freedom is such an old fashioned concept but it's so important.

3 week circuit breaker up here took 11 months to even get 90% of the restrictions lifted and now seems to be back on the agenda for winter.

I have recently heard ‘experts’ on the TV saying that we will have the Covid-19 virus for the next ten to fif**** years.

But anyway, free parking at ninewells is a good thing
£26,100 is the starting salary for a qualified nurse.

But that will just be the basic.

Throw in weekend and nights and that wage soars to well over £30,000.

Still no great wages considering a degree needed, just my opinion of course.
Just like to add the care my mum has had in the last couple of years has been fantastic, I think the nature of their jobs wud be quite stressful so free parking shud be a gimme.
    Again just my opinion.

Would it not be better to consider a wage rise instead of free parking. What about those who travel by bus?
