    I was going to be there today but with the uncertainty over the isolation and needing a hernia operation on Monday I had to give it up.

    Used to drink in the Marylebone Cricketers Club (not Lords - this is off the Edgware Road). Loads of guys there knew Dexter and every one of them said he was a tight-fisted arrogant pr*ck.

    I can't say that I'm not gutted. It was a question of having my op 4 weeks ago but I wouldn't have been fit enough for this week. I decided to have a holiday with the wife and sort out the schedule at work. I'll be over in October when I should be fit enough to mount those steps in the NYS.
