Two weekends on two off….not unusual….

With 307 hours annual leave, you can take a few of them off.

    And here’s the trick.

    Still get your unsocial money.

If everyone took their holidays on a Saturday and Sunday, I would imagine they would be pretty short staffed at the weekends

Only so many staff can get off at one time.

But free to take as many weekends off as you want

    307 hours…..then the sickness

    No bad work.
Just like the MSPs and civil servants working at Holyrood.

It has no doubt not affected the big bosses but there has been carnage in the lower ranks.
I agree with everything you say.
Gordon Brown when he was the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2001 stopped excellent profit sharing schemes operated by the banks and brought in a bonus scheme which was target driven.
People should remember that profit sharing is only paid if a bank makes a profit whilst bonuses were paid even if the bank made a loss providing the member of staff reached their target.

Here is another cracker for you.
The staff on the Calmac ferries work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. Coupled with their Annual holidays they work 23 weeks per annum.
The crew on the large car ferries work 7 days a week shift system. They have a cabin on board their ship with free full board and lodgings.
That is why the Scottish Government had to hand over £128 million to Calmac Ferries Limited to balance the books in their annual accounts for the year ending 31st March 2019.
If a Calmac ferry is late finishing one evening the following day the first return sailing of day can be cancelled due to the crew’s hours of work.
This never used to happen but it appears to have become prevalent in the last three years.

How is it costing him a fortune, Uni is free in this country, and if wages are as low as we are led to believe then they won’t have to pay back much on their student loans,

Nurses are one of the few students who don’t have to pay back their £800 a month bursary, add on a wee part time job and probably better of than most

Throw in the midweek night shifts (all nurses nhs staff have different)

But another £2817 for your midweek nights

    So easily over £6,000
Those weekend hours would put thousands on most jobs I wud imagine.
