Not good enough so far. Chasing shadows in fact. 28% possession at home. Mochrie has a lot to learn defensively, perhaps why he was benched a lot at Montrose. Halliday is in acres of space at all times. Really disappointing all round from Utd.

Quality of officials is again atrocious. United are poor, Clark and McN back to the previous busy nothings. a whole half of 2 wasted shirts.

Doesn't sound like he is a better option that Butch or Harkes

Both on bench so one may come on in his place

Only half time though, draw would be an OK result today

I said it a while back on the transfer thread, if the club think going into the season without replacing Shankland is ok, it's a very bad decision. We're so light upfront it's ridiculous.

Meh unfortunately was always going to be a tight game, who you the lead was going to be crucial Hearts are that kind of team, Gordon has made a couple good saves to deny us and they have got the goal at the death, in both halves in fact, be interesting to see the penalty decision

A big physical forward would definitely be ideal before the window shuts, oh for a Daly type

Ye agree, we were definitely short today but we made a decent fist of it to try and pull it back but their killer 2nd on the break was probably undeserved.

Hopefully we can get a few in/back for St Mirren away. We need it.

    Ok, so quick verdict.

Some players will work their sock off for themselves and team mates others are simply not wanting to be involved. For workmate and commitment the back 4 worked hard, Fuchs again a Trojan, Mochrie and Levit need some time still, Harkes and Butcher gave a greater attacking threat than the recognised strikers. Please please lets never see Clark or McN again, they are shyte, have proven so 95% of weeks. Just because you have little short stubby legs and can make them look busy doesn't mean your doing anything!!

Officials were pitiful but even worse was the United approach to them.

For the pen and many decisions before there should have been 11 infield players in the refs face causing mayhem, he should be scared to award against. The time wasting, head knock stoppages there should be 11 players causing mayhem. There has to be the small switch put into the refs head not to award against united. at the moment we make it so easy.

Toughen up, get some front players or play Butcher up there, FFS even bring back Durnan he wins a thousand times more than Clark and McN.

Disappointed today but not unexpected with the injuries we have, next 2 games against weaker teams than we've played so far, if we do manage to pull off 2 wins and sit with 12 points from 6 games I for one will be well satisfied, c'mon United.

He was played out wide, and on that showing, he's never a wide player. Was always being drawn into the middle of the park which left Smith exposed time and time again. Second half when we were on the front foot he showed a lot more when playing through the middle. Definite glimpses of creativity. Possibly suited to a 4231 in the middle of the 3?
