I was genuinely bored watching the first seventy minutes of that, we were trying to play football, but it just ended with a punt from our centre halves, and hearts centre halves never had it so easy, up against two forwards who can't bully them or win headers, or have pace to run in behind. That's where frustration comes in, it's such a basic to have those elements in your armoury for when you are being forced to go long.

Rallied last 20 mins and could have got a point, but pretty flat uninspiring stuff.

He was played out wide, and on that showing, he's never a wide player. Was always being drawn into the middle of the park which left Smith exposed time and time again. Second half when we were on the front foot he showed a lot more when playing through the middle. Definite glimpses of creativity. Possibly suited to a 4231 in the middle of the 3?

Yeah he was terrible out wide, a liability even. For me he's not ready yet and there is no danger he should start ahead of Harkes.

I had decent view of pen, would like to see it again, but looked a pen, gms got a break of ball and think Edwards panicked and stuck out a leg, which was all gms needed. Ref was ****e though hearts centre halves or Boyce fell to ground a feigntest to he's and he believed for free kicks. And 3 times game stopped with us in possession, because hearts guy down, be head knock, does ref know the rules or have they changed? Guy was one yard from touchline and he didn't even make him get treatment off pitch.

Utd players really should have been in his ear from start. Other problem was probably only way McNulty or Clark could win a physical battle was to foul.

We were far better with Harkes & Butcher on. Watson also gave a great account of himself when he came on. We have no one in our team who will actually drive at defenders. He did more of that in 5mins after coming on than we got from anyone else all day.

Ref gave them free kicks very cheaply

Maybe Louise Appere coming back can be the answer to giving us another dimension in attack

Yeah, Watson was excellent when he came on. He's got real pace the lad.

That's because Hearts switched to a back four which helped us a ton. We struggled again later on when they went back to a back three
