The annoying thing is that we haven’t rectified this same problem for over two years. Francis looks like a bit of a luxury player who who should be playing with two beasts alongside him, not Palmer and O’Brien. Maurice Ross identified this very early on…you have to wonder why it hasn’t been sorted by now.

Yeah would be a great question to put to the head coach if given the opportunity. No doubt we would benefit from a quality 'dog of war' alongside Palmer who's impressed me in the two games I've seen. The key word being 'quality'.

As we know every team will have we weaknesses, every set of fans will be saying why haven't we got a battling midfielder, or a quick wide man, or a man mountain at centre half etc. If IB is happy with what he has in there the question for me is does the system/approach effectively hide or reduce this perceived weakness or not due to the formation adopted? I certainly wouldn't want Notts to play a 4-4-2 with this squad for that very reason of central midfield being overrun.

    Just a bit dramatic.

Slocombe needs to come through this dip in form, I’m sure he will. We can’t replace players every time they have a drop in form. Although, I would like to see a 2nd keeper at the club other than Brooks.

In terms of midfield we have players that win the ball. But, it’s about the team playing a system that gets the ball back and is difficult to breakdown. I trust Burchnall’s judgement.

    Yes, made me chuckle.

I think you’re entitled to have a little laugh at your own humour when it’s that quality. Although I can’t believe Hardy’s not on the list!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we’re incredibly lucky to have him. His interviews are pretty spot on and honest. I particularly liked his response to Torquay’s time wasting in the post match interview ‘I’d do the same’ and ‘we need to be better’. Didn’t have a tantrum like Johnson would of. It goes without saying he’s technically and tactically astute.

I’m just going to enjoy the ride while he’s in charge.

Slocombe has cost us 4 points already with his flapping about. Also, he spends more time punching balls when it would have been easier catching them.

We get it you need to have a couple of targets to have a go and allow your regular moan. That's fine and Sam was part of the reason we conceded a goal against Torquay and was the reason we conceded one goal last night. Although it was a great ball in, and a brave header. Wasn't a huge error (seen a lot lot worse) just a costly hesitation. Overall Slocombe has been good at Notts and certainly good enough for this level he's just going through a bad little period that's all. Hopefully it's only temporary and we don't need a replacement, too early to judge IMO.

However surely you should be happy? You predicted the side to concede 4 and that never looked like happening even with Sam flapping and hasn't in any of the 3 games league games to date.

You've got to be impressed or at least surprised how well we handled the aerial bombardment last night? All done without Lacey.
