Are you on some Happy Pills or what BT ? We've an aging squad in desperate need of a major overhaul, and we've signed a left-winger, which is slightly bizarre, given that arguably our best player is Dwight McNeill.........a left-winger, and we've signed a Championship right-back. I'm sure we could do with better than Lowton or Bardsley, but I can't see this signing, given the problems elsewhere in the team, making a massive difference. Of course it all helps, but we're still some way short of the investment Mr Pace promised when he arrived.

My hat remains firmly on the top of my bonce, and the eggs remain in their carboard box in the fridge. Let's see where we are at midnight, right at this moment we're still way short of even the minimum strengthening required.

You can add Potless as well to the thread title if you want BT, we haven't spent £20 million yet, and that sort of money won't move you up even one place in this League. It's pathetic, 3 summers ago Garlick spent £30 million bringing in Hart, Gibson and Vydra and those three were in long before the end of the window as well. Garlick was known to be a tight-fisted tw@t, yet you're going all starry-eyed over a snake oil salesman who has hardly spent half of that.

FFS get a grip mon ami.

It is more than I expected Sinkov. We could have done with a midfield talisman but beggars cant be choosers. Are you including Collins in your calculations?

The Gibson money paid for Collins CiB, he didn't cost Pace a penny. And as Garlick shelled out for Gibson, you could say it's Garlick who has paid for Collins, but whatever, he's come at no cost to either Pace or ALK.

I see.I did not know how much Gibson went for.So we have spent 12.5m on Cornet and 2.5m on Roberts.Lennon and Henessey were freebies.Loose change really even by PL standards unless there are any more additions but they will probably be loanees anyway.

It's alleged we are paying 5 instalments of £3 million Norder, nothing unusual about this ploy, most transfer transactions are done on the "Chucky".

I don’t think it is fair or important how much money is spent... our best players didn’t cost much... “built not bought” was something we took pride in only a few seasons ago... and quite a lot on here when I said to invest in players shouted back at me about a kitchen sink and dry powder...

So back to Mr. Pace: A few things are mandatory when it come to Burnley. We must have a goalkeeper and CB every year. Check... My criticism on here have been that the players we got were at the end of their careers, with no sell-on value, and that the focus on PL players have been too strong. Mr Pace have delivered to some extent in those areas.

I’m not saying all is well and we’ll survive this season for sure, but I do think Mr Pace are moving the club into a better transfer strategy than I’ve seen in resent years. He might even start working towards the January window as well... wouldn’t that be something!
