Surprisingly the club will start paying for the services of some traditional scouting again after getting rid of them all

Also heard the consortium want out

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Roma, you keep going old pal. Thinking of you.

It's a global game today and totally impossible to scout in old money .
A number of clubs employ scouts based in other countries on a free-lance basis to report on players. It's easy to be misled by a few clips of best moments over a few games against inferior/young opposition. Evva look at 'em live when the team is 2-0 darn on a February neet

    Interesting development .

Let's hope they want a realistic price for the club which will attract attention .

I wonder what James Cryne's position is and Billy Beane ?

I wonder if Billy and James could possibly purchase the club together ?

Beane seems to be heading in this direction following his interest in taking a stake in Fenway Sports at Liverpool .

Could be why Conway is on a PR campaign bigging up Barnsley as consistent Play Off contenders in coming years.
They are first and foremost business people and will want a sizeable profit.

James Cryne's 25% stake could be an issue if a prospective buyer wants full control of the club in my opinion .

Just done a bit of research regarding Billy Beane .

He chairs a company called RedBall Acquisitions who recently tried to purchase a 25% stake in Fenway Sports , Fenway Sports is owned by JJ Henry and they own the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool .

The deal fell through due to Beane having a conflict of interest with his association with the Oakland A's but it was also reported RedBall didn't have the funds either .

Could we see RedBall making an offer to the consortium to buy the club I wonder ? .

Clearly there's a connection with Beane's involvement here and we could be a more realistic purchase for RedBall .

Beane and James Cryne work together on recruitment here so again there's a connection .

Pure speculation of course on my part but at the same time you could see this happening .

Whoever buys the club (assuming PMG want art) will arrive here again with no association or affiliation with Barnsley and ittull be ding ding rarnd two. You'll be going over the same issues that you have for the last 4 years.

This lot will want at least a 10m purchase price for any prospective buyer. Then thaz got complications wi stadium issue and James Crynes 25%. A can't see the club ever being owned again by English people. A just hope we dunt get a Chansiri type who potentially destroys the lot. The PMG ev their faults but they're not mounting up millions in debt and we are a comfortable championship side moving under our own steam looking upwards rather than downwards. Sometimes thaz got to be careful what tha wishes fo.

At least with Cryne and Beane you'd have the continuation of the present model Pass and minus the unsavoury Conway .

Conway seems at least in my opinion the runt in the litter and the cause of so much friction around the club .

I agree it's highly unlikely the club will ever be locally owned again and so that very fact has to be accepted .
