I see there are some negative comments on here towards JOB. I have nothing but good things to say about this player. He is a leader and a warrior and wears his heart on his sleeve, is brave as he tries to make things happen. That contribution to the team and his experience both on and off the field cannot and should not be understated.

People focus on the fact that some of JOB's passes went astray, but the reason he sometimes loses the ball is because he takes risks to try to make things happen, whether it's leaving his position to make a forward run, or playing a pass first time to build the momentum of the attack and put opponents on the back foot. Give me that bravery any day over the Mark Fotheringham-type players who play hundreds of simple five-yard safe passes which make their game stats look good but achieve nothing for the team.

As well as being an extremely hard worker, JOB never hides. If something doesn't work, he visibly curses himself but goes straight back into the thick of the action and tries to make it work next time. His passion for the game is obvious. I would imagine this is exactly the type of player IB wants, and I'm sure one of the reasons he gave JOB a new 2-year contract is because he highlights him as an example to the rest of team, especially the younger players. The player has courage, mental resilience and a work-rate of someone ten years younger. He can also play in several different positions. I think as fans we should appreciate this, and judging by the standing ovation he got yesterday when he was substituted - having run himself into the ground - I think most do.

Just seen the goals on TV and on first viewing it didn't look enough for a foul on Cameron.

All three Notts goals were pleasing, two well worked goals and a dominate finish from a corner. Let's put that down to the new coach shall we?

This 100%. I notice that JOB tries to make passes that will actually get us into a good attacking position or get us a chance. Sure they don't all come off as they're the hardest passes to complete mostly due to the defence but I'd still rather he made positive match choices than safety first.

By that logic nor will Chesterfield, Wrexham or Southend, as they all conceded 2, neither will Grimsby as they let Barnet put 3 past them, nor will Stockport who failed to score. I wonder who it will be then?

Exactly, we are in the NL not the Prem, players are in this league not so much for their lack of ability but not being consistent and that means even the so called big teams will have shockers.
I’m getting more and more confident with IB, if I was to spot a weakness it would be I can’t imagine he hammers players perhaps when they need it, but that’s why he had Ross (enough said about him) but obviously why he had the hindsight to get Doyle as his No2, he’s a very smart guy.

Worth remembering that we have faced 2 of the better teams in the division including the "ultra rich team" away and are ahead of both and undefeated. We are doing good so far, I am sure it is not only NCFC fans who can see bad in this but I think we have passed the first test.

Just watching England passing the ball about against Andorra, it strikes me that - sometimes - the passing game becomes a bit of an excuse for players not to take any personal responsibility. Let's face it, even though this is effectively England's B team playing, these are all highly-rated, highly-paid players competing against a rag-tag bunch of semi-professionals, and yet our supposed 'stars' seem surprisingly reluctant to simply take on their man and beat them, which they should be able to do if they're worth what they're being paid compared with the opposition. I don't mind players passing the ball, but when they start passing the buck it becomes more frustrating.

Edit: as if to illustrate the point, the moment Mason Mount decides to run at the Andorran defenders with the ball, he wins a penalty!

I'm watching the test match, every time I've flicked over to see what's happening it's the same thing - pointless passing just over the half way line. Henderson especially seems to have dozens of touches, all to no effect. It's unwatchable.

They've scored a couple more goals now to make the score line (4-0 at present) look respectable, and no doubt some will argue that all the passing has 'tired out the opposition' and is now getting its rewards, but I'm not sure I buy that. The gulf in quality between the two sides from the get go should be huge, and I'm sure we would be looking at something more like 7 or 8-0 if certain players had shown more courage on the ball earlier in the game.

Plus, as you say, it really is not 'entertaining football'. Quite the opposite, it's frustrating watching players gesture as though they're going to attack their defender, only to check and then pass back and sideways.

They were doing exactly the same thing that Notts do at times . Passing it around aimlessly in front of Andorra. Even when England had the opportunity to cross the ball into the pen box, where there were often 2 or 3 England players, they declined. Ardley-Ball on steroids. No wonder the crowd were more interested in making paper planes.
