I can't think of a better opportunity than this to give Grigg a run out

Same as Grumpy really. Soon as you have to play the rich kids then it's tinpot to me. It is patronising, beating lower league teams with all these kids. Should be further down the pyramid playing all the time before making the move to big clubs when they're ready for first team football regularly. Shouldn't be able to hoard like they do.

Warne has already said he's recalling all loanees except the lad at Matlock as he's not had enough game time to warrant a start at Donny

Does this count as the first of Miller's 3 games out? It is a domestic game after all.
[B][I]No it does not count as it is a cup competition and all his three game bans only relate to league games, that's why he will probably play in order to keep his fitness levels up.

Thanks for the confirmation of loaness. I hadn't seen it, see how they get on!

Ah, that's a shame about Miller. I always thought domestic bans could be served in cup comps too. Damn.

    Cheers Dave

Sounds like they'll be giving a start to new signing Joe Dodoo. Much travelled striker, 8 years since turning pro.... 15 goals scored. Total.

It's always been a bit tinpot in the early rounds to be fair! But at least back then it was a proper competition with sporting integrity. Group of 3, winner gets home tie in the next round , runner up away tie, third place team eliminated then a straight knock out before a two legged semi final.
Now it's a league 1/2 reserve team fixture for one team whilst a u21 fixture for the other with one side given home advantage randomly in the semis. And this reserve team cup merits a Wembley final where you get to pay £50 for a ticket, £20 to park, £12 for a burger and 8 for a programme. It's just total bollox.

Its only a "tin pot" competition until the semi-final, at which point it isnt!
