    GP’S - Does Anyone Know?

Just booked an emergency appointment with my GP after being interrogated by the admin staff and told luckily I can see someone in a week!! I asked for bloods and told only emergency bloods and was the GP’s decision.

Is it any wonder why cancer cases are going through the roof as well as mental health. That poor singer who died yesterday at 39 did not want to put pressure on a stretched NHS - FFS.

Who demands that GP’S resume normal services pre-pandemic like every other poor f ucker in the country? Is it the Government or each Surgery?

Complete and utter farce!!!! W ankers!!!

    I haven’t seen a GP for over 18 months.

At best you get a phone conversation 2-3 weeks after calling the surgery and that’s only with the practice nurse!

I’ve got a hernia I think, so once again, I’m paying to go private again this week so that’s another £200 just for starters.

GP’s have been an embarrassment to themselves since early 2020.

A national enquiry is required into their conduct.

My daughter wanted to see a doctor approx 6 weeks ago and we had to wait for a call from the doctor and was a rubbish service. 10 days ago I phoned the same surgery expecting delays and was surprised to be given an appointment that afternoon. I had a serious chest infection and the doctor prescribed anti biotics which have done the trick. A friend has had huge delays trying to see a doctor. It is a very hit and miss service!

Does anyone dare mention the 'B' word yet?

Medical supply chains, such as blood test tubes, are suffering because of it.

To be honest everything is suffering! The NHS is the worst it’s ever been - it’s getting worse with illegal immigrants entering - prices are going up - taxes are going up and yes Boris is a useless scruffy lazy t wat!

When Aneurin Bevan founded the NHS, the BMA were fundamentally opposed to the idea as their members (doctors) thought they would lose earnings and since then they have continued to wield power. It is as billsbest has said, a very hit & miss service - some surgeries are just better run than others. However the growing displeasure amongst the public against GP's will I think come to a head when a high profile case of malpractice happens - the hit appears to be far less common than the miss.

The extra money promised in the coming months will I think just go straight into the pockets of the already well paid doctors and consultants, whereas it should be used to recruit the best from overseas to turn the NHS into a 7-day service.

We should be greatly expanding the number of places at our medical schools; it’s a long term process but surely that is the way to go? I know of course, that there could be a problem finding the teaching resources for the aforementioned medical schools. Nothing is easy, though, is it?

Anyway, WCV, I trust that you are not in need of a doctor?

I agree with you WCV, Mrs P is a district Nurse, they work 7 days seeing patients, hospitals run 7 days, yet why is it GP surgeries do not, just because it’s the weekend doesn’t stop folks needing a doctor!
This has to be one of the first steps in reform as it immediately adds capacity!

Ketts I am in need of a doctor but nothing urgent - thanks for asking!

Dave - it is true that hospitals run 7 days, but only through necessity for their inpatients, Mrs WCV has recently had a horrendous attack of gallstones running into a weekend, was suspected but not the confirmed diagnosis at the time. No ultrasound service after normal office hours so she had to go back on Monday - I can understand there may not be too much same day referral work coming into hospitals given the operating hours of GP surgeries but surely it's not beyond the wit of man to train up some multiskilled staff to meet whatever the collective need is for this type of thing?

I've been given a slot for a blood test, but wouldn't be in the least surprised that when attending, to be told a letter has been sent out to me to cancel it-there will be no apology. Seems that some administration these days is in the hands of clock watching flexible working part timers, as the above has been experienced three times in the last 12 months by relatives at outpatient departments..
