Great in spells but lacked the killer instinct to finish off our chances. Looked like a certain penalty against Ruben near the end. Disappointed but Weymouth were better than I expected.

I think the glass is a bit more than half full.

We've not been brilliant. However it's a solid start to a very long season.

I'm convinced the way to get out of this division is to get max points from the lower teams, rather than those around us near the top. Clearly we need to pick up points from those, but the bulk of our tally should cone from home and away wins against those in the lower half.

Today could prove to be a decent point come the end of the season, but if everyone else gets 3pts there it's 2 dropped. As it stands the home draw against Torquay is looking our worst result.

Still early days and more positives than negatives. I don't think we're close to our potential yet either.

Welcome to the world of football messageboards! I'm getting a bit fed up of reading about how people overreact, because overreaction is the lifeblood of boards like this one. Football is a highly emotive game, and if you don't get extreme views either way the board won't last long. Were those predicting Notts would score 4 or 5 and those confident of a 2-0 win overreacting? Of course they weren't, they were just saying what they thought or hoped would happen. There is a middle ground however, where you don't have to lead a bandwagon and throw all your chips in, and you don't have to see anything other than doom and gloom whenever we concede a goal.

The Realism and Rational Party (another version of R&R) will never catch on.

Talking of a larf, this post on Stagsnet 18 minutes into the game amused me:

"Going to be very ugly in the stands if we lose this."

Win lose or draw, it's guaranteed to be very ugly in the away stand!

Well safe to say someone still hasn't found a new hobby. Don't be fed up, try not being so sensitive.

I say long live the extreme views they are often the funniest and always the most entertaining. Anyone who wasn't expecting an overreaction from a Notts 1-1 draw on here is either very new to NCM or clearly hasn't been paying attention

The doom and gloom merchants and Lance Corporal Joneses are part and parcel of NCM and it would be a duller place without them. However that doesn't mean some of the OTT comments can't be highlighted, pointed and laughed at in a Nelson Muntz style.

My only wish would be the put half as much time, effort and energy when Notts win and/or play well instead of temporarily disappearing.

Right back from my evening meal out let's see what gems there are earlier in the thread.

This is where I’m at. Of course I’m disappointed that we did not go on to win the game today and in isolation going 1-0 up against teams like Weymouth and letting them back in it is not ideal as we should be putting these teams to the sword.

However in the grand scheme of things it’s a point away from home and our unbeaten start to the season continues. Plus we only have a point less than the average two points a game we need to be on course to win the title.

Yes it’s too many draws so far, but if we are a hard team to beat that bodes well, and if we can get some wins under our belt and get some momentum going we will be fine. What will not be fine is if we start losing games.

We have two home games coming up now and if we can beat Wealdstone on Tuesday night then we remain on course and can start to build a platform of wins.
