Thread: Leeds United - v - Liverpool ***Matchday Thread***

Cooper made an identical tackle 10 minutes later and no foul. Koop does seem to mon a little and like zero contact football.

    Not a great day:

    * Llorente looks quite cultured on the odd occasion when he is fit to play but he is too much of a sicknote for the pace and intensity of this league and our 'brand' of football.

    * Cooper continues to be so far out of his depth that I'm half expecting him to make a cameo appearance on Vigil this evening.

    * Rodrigo very average throughout. Harrison and Ayling were not much better.

    * That was never a red card in a month of Sundays and hopefully it will be rescinded.

    * When they wheel out Donky Roberts then you know it's all over.

    * Firpo looks no better at defending than Alioski (admittidly he had a hard gig today) and worse going forward - go figure.

    * Meslier and Bamford played well (all things considered).

    * Big picture - it's not a disaster as we have played 2 very good teams. The acid test will be how we fare against the likes of Newcastle, Southampton, Brentford and Wolves etc.

Thought Firpo did okay for his first league game and made some decent challenges.

Radz spoke well on Sky just now.

A few more severe pumpings to come this season im afraid from the greedy 6 cartel brigade mainly down to Bielsa not changing/tinkering with the way we play..honestly thought he had learned after the game at home to scum last season where we managed to limit them with chances.

Scum away and Liverpoo today was feckin painful and could have been handled better in my opinion.

Long way to go but I feel rather uncomfortable with the season ahead.......

Ways to go yet, we all knew how high the bar is going to be this season……no not ‘that’ bar Rev!!! We can’t stop believing though, definitely don’t want the players in that mindset. The two beatings we have had will be dished out to a host of other clubs throughout the season but I feel we are on par with the ‘other’ clubs like ourselves.
Pissed right off at the moment but I believe we can hold our own in this division.

Big game against the bar codes next up - 3 points there should settle nerves and the a big test against the Hammers I think.

We did it in the first home game last year against a Man City but we passed the ball too many times from the final third where they could intercept.

Need a bit more composure when we have the ball.

    Surprised Klich didn’t get time.

Liverpool far superior but they are one of the greatest clubs of all time with massive wealth behind them.
We are utterly reliant on MB being a miracle worker. Which he has been. But there must be a limit on what he can do.
A long way to go and I believe we will be ok but the gap between us and the elite is very large.
I will not pick on players as they do well and certainly try their best but in comparison to Liverpool and Man Utd we are at a different level now.
Football has changed so much that generally speaking the vast wealth will come out on top. We don’t have much wealth at all by today’s standards.
