A few good posters on here knew I would bite to this...

Seriously...the first club where the players have stopped demonstrating against racism because of the attitudes of their fans and it just had to be Millwall. That's really not something to be proud of. Really living up to the reputation garnered by a loud minority of your supporters.

"Millwall is not a racist club, in the last 10years 5 of those years a black player was voted by the fans as player of the year" - about as useful a statement as, 'I'm not racist I have friends who are black'.

Anyone with common sense would see that BLM had their slogan knicked. People didn't even know what they stood for and don't really care. Do you think there is a single footballer out there who says that they are kneeling because they want to promote an anti-police state? Come on, have a think about it.

Football is rife with racism and your club was the first to back down from it and accept it.

Everyone entitled to their opinion though. Regardless whether you applaud taking the knee or boo it without racial undertones its up to an individual. There’s no right or wrong.

If a guy wants to stick his d ick in a girl or up the backside of another guy - there’s no right or wrong as it’s up to the individual.

Taking the knee is certainly not educating idiots - it’s probably making idiots worse! Even many of our footballers are idiots and thick - Dele Ali takes the knee but the same guy racially abused and mocked an Asian. Is that OK? What message does that send to other idiots!

There’s hardly any problems in let’s say Rugby or Tennis. Are we saying players and supporters are more educated and there’s less idiots - I would say that’s the case! Look at Emma yesterday - the whole country was behind a very well spoken educated girl and any idiots who are the minority would not be interested in tennis anyway! So it appears to be a football thing!

There are idiots in every race sadly. There are many who live here who hate the western way of life - alcohol - girls in short skirts and sleeping around but they are still happy to be here! Idiots of a different sort and idiots or those not educated will remain idiots.

There will always be idiots and sadly you can’t educate them and some idiots will actually take what you are trying to do backwards - like taking the knee so why keep preaching it! Seems more white folk are wound up than those who are none white.

The courts should deal with idiots in a much stricter way but they don’t. There were still some boos at the match yesterday but not with racial undertones but for me the idiots who threw bottles and knocked two Millwall supporters unconscious should be found and receive prison sentences. But hey - this mindless violence hardly gets a mention!

More needs to be done to eradicate racism but taking the knee is not it! Again the courts should hammer any racism of any colour.

That’s my view and it should be respected like any other view! Why would any supporters be racist if their team had black players? Unless of course it comes back to non educated idiots or complete hypocrites!!!

Again don’t see this rubbish in other sports like tennis. Perhaps the demographics are different and for certain the players are better educated!

I watched the F! race today and was interested to note they had an even stronger anti racism message at the start than we have with taking the knee. Just mention it to illustrate it is not only football taking a stand.

    Well said.

I’ve not been 100% behind the knee, but one thing for sure is that all the racists are getting annoyed by it - so keep it going. I don’t slogans and banners work, neither will the knee. But this irritates the racists, so I say keep it.

Personally Regis - I could not give a damn what they do. I don’t applaud it and don’t boo it and for me there should be stronger measures in place to combat racism.

Sadly you can’t educate idiots and idiots are mainly football supporters. Even some football players are idiots who portray a bad example to young kids.

Look at Emma in the tennis - well spoken girl who will inspire the next generation.

Look at Grealish - good footballing skills but found in the gutter drunk and played bumper cars during lockdown when he was at a party breaking the government rules.

Would the likes of Emma do this? Well there’s the answer.

For me idiots will always be idiots so ban them and lock them up

Tennis has a different following completely. You wouldn't get fans hurling strawberries and cream over gates and kicking each others heads in like we saw yesterday. A far more sophisticated set of fans. Rugby is further ahead in the behaviours of fans than football is. Sadly football has a dark underbelly which has been present over the years and probably will be for some time.

These lads won't eradicate racism and I think they know that. They are sick of experiencing it and want to demonstrate that they and their colleagues are together in saying no to it. I think that's a strong message, whether it's a knee or a different type of approach. Maybe it will make authorities know that they need to take stronger action, who knows. Surely, it's better than doing nothing which has been the case with the underwhelming 'Kickitout' organisation.

One things for sure, I'm fairly certain that bloke who referred to Sawyers winning the 'Baboon D'or' wouldn't have been taken as seriously as it was 3-4 years ago. That's progress!

I take your point baggieal. There are idiots about.
However with Jack Grealish despite his immature behaviours in the past.. did you see that programme about him? It was on months ago which I recommend a watch. You might change your view on him. Most footballers I think are decent but we constantly have a negative headline in the news that say otherwise. Even Saido is probably decent guy deep down. We don’t know the help they do to others privately.

Totally agree Regis and no didn’t see it! I like Grealish but just making the point on the difference!

Personally I would jail that idiot who abused Sawyers and anyone else who takes it too far - - this should apply to all colours though as not all one sided.

Football though does attract more idiots - sadly!

I am proud though racism on the main is not associated with our club. My point on anything though unless done properly is any message could be diluted. I don’t give a jot for example if someone is gay as worked with gays for over 20 years in the travel industry but sometimes I think Pride being thrown in peoples faces - is it educating people or causing resentment? Some would say resentment as it’s everywhere!

For me education comes from parents - schools and stiff court sentences but hey that’s just my view!

Not going Tuesday as can’t drive in the dark far now but excited to get my Preston tickets

Whether members of this board are anti or pro 'taking the knee', thankfully everybody appears to be anti racist. Our differences appear to be how we deal with getting rid of the problem. Personally, I don't believe that 'taking the knee' is the answer and that, rightly or wrongly, some associate it with the BLM movement. I would, therefore, think that it would be advantageous to use a different gesture before games.
