    We need a defensive midfielder.

    New line-up: 4-1-3-2.
    Pope (of course!)
    Roberts, Collins, Mee, Taylor,
    Tarkowski,
    McNeil, Westwood, Cornet,
    Wood, Vydra.
Might stop some and score some!

Do defenders make good managers? SD does seem to make defending the priority and shutting up shop to defend a 1-0 lead. Southgate as England manager is cautious and tends to do the same. Big Sam was a defender, I believe, and put defence ahead of everything else. I know the quality of player makes a difference, but compare that with Ole Gunnar at Manchester Ronaldo, Viera at Palace, Guardiola at Man City. Admittedly Tuchel was a defender. He has tightened up Chelsea at the back but is looking for attacking football.

Looks more exciting than what we are seeing at the moment. The deadwood should be moved on, any funds used to bring in new, younger blood and youth given a chance. Pace and enthusiasm would give us a better chance. Some of the current squad simply cannot move their wheelchairs fast enough to keep up.

I would not have a problem with Joey Barton as manager. I think he could bring something to the team, like he did when he played for us. His drive, vision, ruthlessness and experience would help, I believe. Things will not change if we only look to recruit players who play the “Burnley/SD way”. That just perpetuates the status quo whilst all around us improve year on year. We may as well recruit from the National League. Plenty of players at that level know how to hoof the ball forwards if we continue in that vein.

Cornet has bee bought so we can play 5 at the back, we dont need a midfield that goes past the half way line, then we attack either long ball or to confuse the opponent we may use the left wing when we are feeling spicy

To be honest I'm not sure why he's been bought at all. We're OK at left-back and left-wing, which is where it seems he likes to operate. I hope to be proved wrong, but my prediction is that this signing will turn out to be a complete waste of time and money. No doubt if he does prove me wrong, someone will be kind enough to point it out.

I think that they expect to sell McNeil and Tarks in January, once Cornet has learnt the “Burnley way” and is Dyche fit. That way they will pocket say £40 million plus. Dyche is on record for saying that he will not stand in way of players who want to further their careers. Tarks wants out. He could play for a bigger team, no doubt. McNeil is still at the beginning of his career but Everton, to name but one, have expressed an interest.

He has played left and right wing as well as full back and up front earlier in career , I can only think He’s going right wing or left wing and Mcneil in the hole if it’s left wing.
It’s brave for Dyche if that’s what he’s thinking mind , if he has pace goes at people and doesn’t hide for 70 mins in a game he can play right midfield for me JBG seems to find a hole to hide in every week I watch him.
