They’re using driver shortages as the reason but the company going bust is a company that was brought out of a previous administration last year. Patently a flawed business model probably tied into fixed price contracts with the supermarkets.

Just scratched the surface but I wouldn’t be pointing the finger at any inability to recruit new drivers. The management is what I’d be questioning. None of whom will be going poor by the looks of it. Seem to have plenty of other ‘shells’ to start again and look to save the day.

"PwC said that driver shortages were partly to blame for EVCL Chill, formerly known as NFT distribution and owned by venture capitalist Emergevest, running out of money."

Look at the history. The new company was incorporated just before it took over the old company. Same directors and surprise, surprise PwC handled the administration.

PwC can say what they like and you can believe what you like but the it looks like all involved want this flawed gravy train to continue.

I can’t be ar$ed to check the fees PwC have charged for companies that have been liquidated and/or put into administration by these company directors but it will be a pretty penny.

Stop being so naive. Following the narrative fed to the press by all these jokers isn’t the real story here. They’re making excuses and have copped out.

This is a company who has never filed any accounts. I know what I think.

I feel sorry for the workforce.

    This guy is unreal.
He's been in the job for two years and he and his fellow governors are the ones to blame.
Brexit happened ages ago and we knew it would happen 5 years ago.,
They have no forward plan, no risk mitigation, no foresight

Why are you ranting? No one's given you any stick.

There's plenty to criticise the government for.

The original thread was civilised until someone said the driver shortages was all Brexits fault. It's simply not true. There's a few reasons of which Brexit is one.

We have enough people unemployed who, over a period of time could be trained to perform these jobs. For whatever reason, many can't be ar$ed.

Job centres are asking employers to attend their offices to interview job seekers these days. I had to send two guys last week to interview 5 individuals. Two asked for video interviews at the 11th hour. One of those didn't even make that. Of the other 3, two made it patently obvious they didn't want employment.

....... and yes the job paid well above the living wage.

I wasn't aware i was ranting Howdy also if you look at my initial post it was a question listing several possible causes for the problem brexit being just one of them which is really all Grant Shapps has said.

I take your point about some potential lorry drivers not wanting the job despite the fact that a good wage is being offered but you also have to bear in mind conditions of Lorry drivers jobs, its not just to do with pay.

Yay, welcome back thread by the way!
