It was going to happen. If any team is up for it and we aren’t 100% we can suffer a loss. Stoke really wanted it today. Might be a good thing just to show us that we can’t just assume we will walk the league. I’m sure Val will get us back to default.

To be fair, it was always going to be a hard place to come to tonight and Stoke deserved the win as they created the chances and we didnt. As Barrera says, Stoke sussed us out and we didn't really respond to that. Think Val got the substitutions right be we weren't good enough tonight. On the otherhand, how many of us would have thought we would be where we are now in the table at the start of the season. Let's hope we can get back on track after the international break.

Beaten by the better team on the night. I have just said to the Mrs, I am more annoyed and frustrated by having to endure Dingle Don loving the fact we are losing than the result!

Yes beaten by the best team no complaints their , but we are looking at Stoke as some sort of wonder team , We were WOEFUL the couple of times we did get in their box their defence was all over the place , we were only playing against James Chester for fu ck sake , we couldn't make 5 passes all night didn't win any second balls got caught in possession all night , couldn't even say one player played well except for Johnson, when we are going to play teams who play like Stoke , you need something a bit special to unlock a defence & I don't believe we have anyone,

Don't disagree with any of your comments. Now let me think " unlocking a defense ". Oh that's Pereira and who pocketed that money without like for like quality!

It's one game though so can't be good every match and the huge player to return is Clarke!

There's no doubt that the better side won last night and that Stoke were superior in most aspects of the game. What I would say though, is that we are not the same side without O'Shea and Clarke. I understand that Ismael has his style and it has served us well in most matches but last night I felt that at half time we should have reverted to a back four as we looked suspect every time Stoke came forward. It's in his DNA to play a back three but sometimes, when things aren't going well, needs be, needs must!

And as for Clarke just what we need to unlock defences 🤷*♂️

It’s unrealistic to think we will smash every side we come up against. It’s not that kind of league and we don’t have that good of a side.

Totally agree Matt! Fulham's squad is double ours in value and have they won every match? No! My point about Clarke was he's a quality player and been missed and about to return so the balance of the side will be better!

For a weak squad we are doing well both in terms of league position and some exciting football but we can't expect results every week - just like Fulham won't!
