Well, I am sure Reuben was signed under Ardley's tenure, so he is irrelevant. Cameron is better than Turner, sure, but better than Ellis? That's a moot point.

And what about Calvin Miller and Enzio. Not sure Mitchell is an improvement on Ben Burgess!

Ellis wasn't actually our player, Turner was. So Cameron comfortably over Turner so that's 1.

Palmer is an upgrade in Reeves, so that's 2.

It's certainly not 0 as suggested by Woody but is that our lot as things stand?

When Turner first arrived everyone on here was saying he was exactly what we needed. He started off really well. Sadly, age caught up with him and his legs started breaking. What little pace he had disappeared. Cameron has not been that solid so far and I'd argue that Turner had more of an impact at first.

As for Palmer/Reeves, I'm going to hold off before i declare Palmer better. He needs to affect games more for my liking. Which one is currently playing in League 2?

Depends if you count the loan players or not, doesn’t it. They were never ours, so you probably can’t.

Otherwise the issue hasn’t so much been that the players we’ve brought in haven’t been better than the players they’ve replaced, more that we have failed to address a couple of the massive issues that were already there.

FWIW I’m not sure any individual player is playing that badly really. There’s just something wrong with the balance/mentality/functioning of it as a whole team.

The last time I was at Halifax we had Shields and even he did a 200% better job of holding and using the ball than Nemane last night. Wootton was also very poor IMO. Ruben is much fitter these days and puts in a defensive shift, it's not his fault what he has behind him.
Shape/system/balance wasn't the issue last night IMO...
A front 3 of R+R+Woots doesn't have the enough of the running, in-behind threat...and if the seven outfield players behind can't offer that either, one of them would have to be dropped I think
Demand is a good hard working player but he's a right sided player. Don't blame Nemane for being stuck on the completely wrong side of the pitch, it was a poor use of a good player.

    Just to offer another suggestion….
If, and it’s a big if, Rawlinson finally settles down at CB and finds his sea legs again…
What about a CB pairing of Lacey and Rawlinson and move Cameron to the defensive midfielder role?
He’s solid going forwards, has a good build so to speak, height etc..and is comfortable on the ball. He’s played in a variety of roles previously, so might offer a solution, even if it’s until the radar computer can come up with a more permanent suggestion?

    I'd be down with that.

You make some valid points KC, certainly in terms of Turner when he first arrived. Is Cameron an upgrade on Turner of last season? I believe he is. But, appreciate that may not be a view everybody shares.

With regards to Palmer/Reeves. Palmer has played in the Championship. So, using your logic is Palmer better? I believe Reeves underperformed, certainly before Burchnall arrived. I’m sure he was/is a better player than he showed at Notts. But, Palmer is the better player in my opinion.
