    That's what I thought might be the answer Sub, you have two officials in close proximity to an incident, but they don't work together because there's someone with a camera 200 miles away. Pathetic.

    Totally agree, sinkov, and my stand on this has never changed since it was first introduced.
    The referee's decision was always final, however, in the elite footballing world this is no longer the case, however, it is still all down to opinions. We used to have 3 officials who were fine at looking after a game, in spite of what fans etc. thought.
    We now have 6 officials doing the same job, aided and abetted by numerous cameras and all it does is cause more confusion and is not helped by players falling over for absolutely nothing!

    The other factor in all this is the fact that many fans watching at whatever level, including the local park games on Sundays, are screaming foul for every bit of contact and then abusing the official for not giving things. This weekend, in the north east, there were several matches postponed because there are no referees. This is because a lot of dedicated people have just packed it in because of the terrible abuse and threats of violence from players, managers and spectators
