3 games in a week was obviously a concern for Tam, so he gave Appere, Chalmers and Smith some game time to freshen things up and use the squad, something he must do to keep his team/squad fresh and keep the fringe players happy and believing they are part of this venture. This week It backfired, Smith and Chalmers lacked match fitness and looked off the pace losing possession again and again, as a result Clark and Fuchs lost all the rhythm they had been showing in recent weeks. Credit to Tam for not ****ing about and making the changes at halftime and giving the A team a decent chance to rescue the points. Their keeper had a birthday afternoon or we would have blown them away.

On to Tynecastle, and see what we can do against a team who bullied us last time out.

Yes Terry, it was worth a try. It wasn't working so at least we were brave enough to change things on 45 mins. And but for some heroic stops by Zander Clark it would have worked out in the end.
There are 26 league games to go, it's going to be a rollercoaster so fasten your seatbelts. Some are saying it's the tightest premier league ever, amazing what happens when you get rid of the Accies!
Some we'll win, some we'll lose. don't get too carried away with the successes & don't over-mourn the losses.

We've now had most shots on target in the division outside the ugly sisters, another positive, we are creating good opportunities

Its a positive that we are gutted now to lose undeservedly to ST J whose keeper kept them in it and it still leaves them 8 pts behind us, it took that to beat us

We are on the right path, I really like this team and their attitude, gave it everything and were gutted at the end

I am seeing plenty positives, I'd rather be gutted at not taking chances than not creating them, this is where we are today and a big step forward from where we were.
Tam has to see if his fringe players can show in a game what they're showing in training, if not for a rare mistake by Fuchs and a keeper possessed, we would be happy.

If we are gonna jump on TC for this mistake....then surely we should all be critical of Fuchs that lost us the goal as well...and Benji for the midweek goal?
Nope...we get behind all these lads..Tam included! The gamble didn't pay off yesterday but if it wasn't for great goalkeeping...we would be saying that it was a another great day at the office for TC.
We are feeling the pinch of an injured McNulty and a new striker trying to get up to speed.
The measure of TC and his team, will be how they react to the loss!

Freeman was disappointing midweek, so maybe was looking to freshen it up there.

We were sluggish early doors, summed up by the mistake by Fuchs at the goal, but I think our problems mostly stemmed from the lack of movement, physicality, ability of the front 3 to link up and make the ball stick. It really was quite alarming the drop off in quality, which is bit worrying if you are relying on your best eleven just being fit and on form every week.
As an ACL reconstruction survivor I'll pipe up again JA: he's had two reconstructions across both knees and we we playing on soaking plastic. I'm surprised he was on the pitch at all on Wednesday...

I guess Tam has one eye firmly on having the squad at his disposal, team ready? There's a long way to go in the league and I'm sure he is eyeing European qualification based on our performances so far. If he is getting carried away about challenging for the league (who hasn't dreamed about it?), then he needs as many of his squad ready to step into the team as possible. Then there's the Scottish Cup?

However, apart from Appere's early promise a couple of season's ago, I feel his destiny lies in one of the lower leagues. Chalmers should probably get another chance to prove himself. He has the means, but can he use it? It's time to stop faffing about with Big Max. That's three games he's been on the bench and in two of them has come on to listen to the final whistle. This guy must be fully tried soon to see if he's any good! We need to bulge the net more often!

I was impressed by how we kept playing decent football to the end to try and rescue match. Big disappointment was how ineffective the replacements brought in to starting line-up were. That has to be huge blow/let down for manager.

He had said he would make a few changes. Why always against st johnstone? It brings back horrible memories lol. So maybe chalmers and appere have had their chance for a bit? Credit to zander clark tbh. Onwards i dont think we will crumble and will have more blips making chances but Clark whilst busy isnt our answer.
