Pakistan have it in them to implode.

When it comes to T20, England have so much quality with bat and ball.
So far we have cruises through with Sri Lanka the only team to put us under some sort of pressure. With how good we are in this format we have to be favourites.

    Don’t discount New Zealand though.

Not yet they haven’t. They need New Zealand to lose against Afghanistan.

Still a few fascinating imponderables for the semi-finals. Pakistan could play their very weakest team and still beat Scotland with ease so they will top Group 2, but second place is in New Zealand's hands. It's hard to think they will lose to Afghanistan, but if they do India will be given a lifeline. In Group 1, a defeat for England against South Africa should still see us top the group unless it's a heavy one. Australia have an easy looking game against a very poor West Indies team, so my prediction for the semi-finals is the obvious one:

    England v New Zealand
    Pakistan v Australia

I suspect that England, being England, will sail through unbeaten until the semi finals and then slip up at the knock out stages.
We are the best side in the competition but we’re always capable of messing up, even under Morgan, who is a fantastic captain.

After Australia beat West Indies earlier, South Africa need to beat England by 61 runs in order to make the semifinals on run rate in the game just started. Even if they did, England would still top the group. We would need to lose by around 100 runs to go out.
