Alright BS and AL, I hope you are both well.

David Peace's The Damned United is an excellent book, but the Clough family have totally distanced themselves from it and Johnny Giles sued over his portrayal in it, and as such all mention of him was removed from the paperback.

The film is great too, but I think like his Shankley book Red or Dead (not anywhere near as good as the damned united) a lot is just fiction generated from a rough idea of what actually happened, from other books and tv interviews.

I was told by a Man United fan at Euro 2004 that our 3-5 victory at their sh ithole was Cloughie's favourite match.

Another classic quote from the great man was "if God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he would have put the grass up there".

Duncan Hamilton's Provided you don't kiss me is an excellent book that really highlights what he was like at the end, sadly an alcoholic basically.
