If we had a decent striker last night we would have won much more easily. Hull were the worst side we have played this season IMO. Having Livermore and Snodgrass as CM exposes us for pace and was surprised how both experienced players kept giving the ball away. Molumby must play IMO if only to give us more energy.

I also don’t like the way we persist with three CBs when the opposition are camped in their own half and hardly cross the half way line. This is why we looked much better when Reach came on as he offered a threat going forward.

We are what we are ..... and can’t fault the effort put in ..... and thank god we won in the end ..... but we need a couple of quality signings in January. Fulham will probably disappear out of sight given the quality they have .... but second place is wide open.

I have to disagree, I don’t think that second place is wide open, I really cannot see us overtaking both Fulham and Bournemouth; third is the best we can achieve. As many have said, we desperately need a ‘proper’ centre forward and a creative midfielder, although we should be better when Mowatt is back.

Playing bad and picking up points is a good sign. Should have been at least 3-0 last night. Hit the post for an 11th time this season and Grant could easily have scored the one on one. Hull clearly came to stop us playing. Having said that we have to improve our finishing. Big time.

Whilst Fulham and Bournemouth look strong a long long way to go Ketts. Both have to come to us and we will have Mowatt and O’Shea back our best players and hopefully a forward in the Jan window. We should have beaten Bournemouth and Preston beat them last night!

We need to keep in a strong position over the Xmas period.

Still positive as early form was excellent and whilst hit and miss at the moment the good form will come back!

We are 1/3 into the season and I still think we could finish anywhere from 1st to 9th. It wouldn't overly surprise me.

I am actually quite happy with the number of points we have picked up considering how we have played.

I do think we could go on a good or bad run. Much depends on keeping key players fit and bringing in the right players too. I'm still not sure how good or bad we are, and that goes for the teams around us too.

I know it sounds strange as they are in great form, but I think Fulham are getting a bit of luck in games at the moment, and they could falter as the season wears on.

I also think there could be a side out of the chasing pack that will go on a brilliant run and threaten the automatic places, a team like Sheff Utd, Forest, Stoke, QPR.

It could be that neither Bournemouth nor Fulham finish in the top 2. What odds would you get on that I wonder..

We scored because of a bad mistake from them / good pressing from us. Livermore won the ball high up the pitch. We hit the post first half and Grant had a good chance after he had scored at 1-0. Otherwise we huffed and puffed, we didn't really carve them open and there wasn't that many clear chances in the game.

I suppose we deserved to win a poor game of football is how I would analyse it.
    Thanks both for the updates.
I’ve read in the press that Val was not impressed with some of the antics from the Hull Players.

All I can say Val is wait until Saturday when our Colin and his latest crew turn up. Now there is a master class in the dark arts.
Can’t wait to witness the body language between Val and sly old fox.

Warnock hate him or not he is one of football’s characters that’s for sure. But to his credit he has tenacity and staying power, and he knows a thing or two about the game.

Sensible post and I would agree with you! Look at our early form - look now when we have our best players out Mowatt and O'Shea and Clarke too was out for ages. We won't go backwards and when players are back I genuinely believe we will recapture the early form! With a decent striker in the Jan window and players back I honestly think we will be right up there! For f uck sake we are right up there now even though we've had an unfortunate spell!

Really it all comes down to FOL and him backing us in January.

Main thing we need Dave and say it time and time again is a decent striker. I would put my trust in Val and go for Dike who he’s worked with and highly rated. Personally I would fund it as a last resort by using any money we could get from Johnstone.

Mowatt is desperately needed back for me and can’t wait to see O’Shea again. The youngster was fab last night and desperate to see young Tolluch have an opportunity - nothing too lose when we have Hugill!

Do agree on the striker, also think we need more energy and quality adding to midfield, at the moment our shape is better with Hugill than without as he does allow Grant and Robinson to play in their natural positions, we can of course do better and he certainly isn’t going to get us promoted.
