One young girl, of school age, interviewed on the protest march in Glasgow stated ' We're here because politicians are not doing nothing!' Don't you think that she'd be better off in the classroom learning how to speak the English Language correctly. Has she not heard of a double negative?

Years ago when my kids were at school we felt our one boy was struggling with spelling and English composition and on parents night I asked his teacher about this problem and she said that they were not too worried about spelling and grammar but more interested in their ideas etc when it came to writing essays etc. I could not believe it. That was 30 odd years ago so no, I am not surprised that kids of today cannot speak correctly or write decent English and as for handwriting they cannot even hold a pen correctly, and hold the pen with a fist. Disgraceful. I have one grandson who is 18 in January. He is highly intelligent and he breezes through maths and higher maths without thinking about it, yet his handwriting is on a par with a retarded five year old.
