What is doubly pleasing about this is that apart from the points deduction Derby C have wasted a shed load of money on legal people and got nowhere.

The legal people concerned are very happy with what they have earned and the administrators will do quite well out of their role in all this too.

It's football supporters that will lose out. The Derby supporters are probably like Rotherham supporters and the supporters of every club in being willing to urge owners to 'speculate to accumulate' and 'open their wallets' during transfer windows and such like. In the light of that they bear some responsibility, but the people who were running the show should have known better.

I think our supporters would've been shocked if RUFC had paid around £8M for Bielek(?), him what should have been sent off. I would say there's a difference between us, and many more clubs, speculating and being reckless like Derby and a couple more clubs.

Regarding Derby County buying Bielek, they are paying Arsenal in instalments for the player,
with Arsenal allowing Derby County to defer payments until their problems are sorted.

With Derby County legal team & administrators, the clubs owner Mel Morris told the administrators,
he would personally pay for the legal team[s], with what it ever costs, to try to beat the EFL in
their quest to punish the club.

It's not just the Bielek signing though.
Last Jan they signed 4/5 loan players and this summer they signed a similar number of free agents.
Most of these were reasonably well known and would command salaries higher than we would pay.
In reality they did not have the funds to pay their salaries

A big difference? What do you think the proprietors of Derby were doing if not gambling on success?

There's certainly a difference in scale between the lengths that some clubs will go to, but the principle is exactly the same - spending more than you can afford in the hope of success.
