And just to avoid doubt......I'd still vote no lockdown if asked when dead or in a coma......obviously I'd never work for the nhs......the shame would be too much.😎
Anyway that's me out for a wee while.....Hopefully Dee can pull off a bit of an upset and stay up.....fingers crossed.
I am not saying that Dundee being in Tier 3 this time last year has helped Dundee this time.
Severe lockdowns are no use as when they are over people then become susceptible to catching illnesses from being in relatively close contact with other people instead of shutting themselves away.
In my opinion the politicians should be explaining why over 250,000+ people throughout the U.K. every week are testing positive for the Covid-19 virus despite most people having had both vaccinations. The percentage figures of people having had their first vaccination and both vaccinations in the U.K. are no longer announced on the BBC national news reports only the number of people.
The current Covid-19 vaccinations are no use as they were produced to deal with the Chinese variant not the Indian variant.
The vaccine doesn't stop anyone catching Covid. The idea is to reduce the effect and symptoms of the virus and it's been very successful at doing this, That's why they don't report death numbers but try to scare people with the positive test numbers which, in the final analysis, because we've all mitigated the symptoms via vaccine, mean nothing.
Why can't mainstream media understand this? On a slightly different point, we have had campaigns for years to try to reduce the number of people who end up in hospital over the winter. A combination of NHS staff falling ill, a reduction in the number of people going to see their GP, and a naturally occurring rise in the numbers of respiratory based hospital admissions, based on flu type symptoms has been creating this pressure for years. I wonder if last year was such a success that flattening the curve has actually turned into reducing the amount of health care provision.
When myself and tens of thousands of other people including school children in Dundee were vaccinated against contracting Polio in Spring 1962 it was to try to prevent us getting Polio.
It was not to reduce the effect and symptoms of getting the Polio virus.
I know a person who has both Covid-19 vaccinations plus their booster vaccination yet they still contracted the Covid-19 virus and spent several days in ITU.
It would be interesting to know how many people have died in Scotland as a result of not being able to get a ‘face to face’ appointment with their GP since 23rd March 2020 as a patient’s chest cannot be sounded over the phone.
Sadly we will never know as the numbers will be not be released due to ‘confidential reasons’ by the Scottish Government to ‘cover their backs’
I've had two face to face consultations with my GP since 23rd March 2020, once for a steroid injection and once for an examination due to a pain in my abdomen. This is an unusually high number of doctor visits in that period of time for me. To say people can't get face to face consultations is completely wrong, only difference some might find is that you have the phone consultation first then get the face to face appointment, however this was always an option with my GP pre Covid. Neither of these were emergencies so for me personally i didn't see a problem.
