Well you know how i feel now then, when some people go completely over the top when we beat a side by the odd goal, that was mainly down to luck more than anything
The last 2 wins were perfect examples
Grimsby should have been behind, had a draw written all over, a goal right at the death through there mistake , giving them no time to reply
Solihull, despite our magnificant performance, rooney should have levelled on 80 mins, it was his poor strike, not IB, brilliance, it was not 1-1, notts would probably have lost after that point
So for me 2 wins that were quite fortunate, and not the world beaters some were making out
He did , but he also said they missed 3 good chances, especially rooney,s, and then its a different game , and grimsby was lucky.
Celabrating a win is fine, but completely taking out of context by saying we are world beaters, , best match for years, bla bla, get a grip and do not get carried away
I have no beef with IB, but he is nowhwere near a championship manager, or a messiah some are suggesting, in fact table wise he is no better than Ardley, and will achieve the same most likely a play off place
Eastleigh really are our bogey team at this level, which is somewhat mystifying as they appear to be the archetypal non-league side. We got away with an average performance at Grimsby where we rarely threatened to score, but not again today.
Fair play to Cheaterfield, they are showing what you need to do to win this league - grind out wins and keep clean sheets. Tshimanga has now scored 16 for the season - even including penalties, that’s someone who wins you games. You’ve also got to respect Bromley, who keep churning out wins or avoiding defeat.
We need to win the next two and perform a lot better in the process. Last thing we can afford is a another string of defeats, especially with Boreham Wood already six points clear of us.
Still, it could be worse - we could be Man United fans.
In a manner of speaking we are the man utd of the national league , anything less than top or the top 3 ( top four for united ) is a disaster.
And if man utd lose to a bottom half of the table team, like us its bad news
That is factually correct and can't be disputed, but it all boils down to our personal expectation of what our league position should be.
If scraping into the playoffs is your expectation, then we are bang on course. I hope for top three as a minimum, so despite 'every team has an off day', 'it's only one game' and 'Eastleigh are our bogey team' the result today is a huge disappointment for me.
That was bloody atrocious today. We have played there three times now and not even scored, and my word Eastleigh are fkg ordinary.
That was bad news Patterson going back,I felt the worst would happen. Slocombe is a fkg liability. He can't catch the ball, doesn't organise the defence, doesn't talk and doesn't command his area. The defenders don't know what he is going to do.
Notts have never sorted the issue with simple crosses going into the box and the opposition scoring easy goals. FFS sake Burchnall sort it out.
Also a few of our players seem to think they are better than what they are.
Just not good enough.
