A shorter version of this is to say "i am happy to accept mediocrity".

Well it’s not Elite, I’m a realist in fact we have the 4th or 5th highest budget so getting out this league is going to be extremely tough with one auto spot, it’s just a fact. That’s what I accept not mediocrity.

The football’s good, the atmosphere round the club is good, but for some reason we keep slinging in these piss poor performances just as we did under Ardley.

My opinion is that the brand of football we play requires everyone to be on their game but footballers at this level just aren’t week in week out. Chesterfield can be rubbish but they’ve spent a quarter of a million on Tshimanga to bail them out when they are.

As for people getting carried away I don’t think anyone is. As for the Solihull game I’m not sure which game he was watching.
Surely it depends upon how you spend the available budget? Good players from this or lower leagues aren't overly expensive. We still haven't sorted out the right wing back position.

I wasat the game today. Our defence got to play keep the ball for most of the game. In fact we well dominated possession. But we did **** all with it. Our midfield and strikers never came into the game. The few chances they got, the took. It sucked ass.

Agh, too bad...when you don't get too many chances to go to games.
Yeah, what you say squares with what I guessed earlier (post #99). I surprised IB didn't go in for more decisive changes like he did at Grimsby for example. But this time his subs were Ardleyesque, late and just like for like.
We were hamstrung again at CB though. From his interview it's clear Cameron wasn't fit to play, so he didn't feel he could go to a back 4.
So the main probs are at centre-back again....squad is one short, Lacey cannot keep himself available, IB doesn't trust Brindley or Chicksen to play in a 2, main man Cameron not available. That's twice the CB crisis has struck this season and coincides with 4 defeats. Bad luck? Probably not, we should've had it covered

That was bad news Patterson going back,I felt the worst would happen. Slocombe is a fkg liability. He can't catch the ball, doesn't organise the defence, doesn't talk and doesn't command his area. The defenders don't know what he is going to do.

Notts have never sorted the issue with simple crosses going into the box and the opposition scoring easy goals. FFS sake Burchnall sort it out.

Also a few of our players seem to think they are better than what they are.

    Just not good enough.
Are you and Davy one of the same? You both only turn up on here when we lose.

Celabrating a win is fine, but completely taking out of context by saying we are world beaters, , best match for years, bla bla, get a grip and do not get carried away
I have no beef with IB, but he is nowhwere near a championship manager, or a messiah some are suggesting, in fact table wise he is no better than Ardley, and will achieve the same most likely a play off place
What are these 3 mythical chances you keep harping on about? Only you and Ardley (if that is what he said) in the ground saw them.

I think i've been slightly misquoted to suit his arguement
this is exactly what i am saying, a win against solihull, and your on about not much to be positive about in 30 years, well over the top to be honest, i would have expected this if we had been promoted, why not just say your happy with the win, but i am not getting carried away
I agree IB,s style of football is more entertaining, but result wise , it is on par with our lowest ever position in the football pyramid to date, so i say again IB is no improvement on Ardley

No i posted on here after the win , actully saying it was agreat win, and good to do the business in front of a big crowd and occassion, something we must do if we reach the playoffs, these points were ignored

I then said lets not get carried away, as everything ran for us on the day, despite some people saying we were fantastic, and ib,s brilliant tactics, not so because if rooney had levelled which he should have done, would notts have crumbled under the pressure ? The answer is we probably would have
As for the chances they occured, especially rooney,s you may choose to ignore them, and pretend we were fantastic, i just advised caution going into future matches, and it proved to be well founded as the brilliant IB came unstuck today when things did not run for him on the day
