How come so many are saying that Slocombe is crap? - he was heralded as a ‘very good keeper for this league’ prior to him being injured. FFS, give the guy a break instead of trying to knock his confidence - jesus wept!!

Sounds like Brindley, Rawlinson and Chicksen didn't charge forward enough and commit players, or play it long as you say. Useless possession, fiddling about at the back while Rome burns. Was that what it was like anybody who was there?
IB can't allow us to go down as easily as that...he should have risked Cameron or gone with a 2 at the back with either Brinds or Chicks. Very glad I wasn't there.
We weren’t pressed at all really, Eastleigh were visibly happy for our back three and Palmer to have the ball with no pressure on them at all. We knocked it about nicely but it all broke down as soon as we got into the final third.

Didn’t help that all of our forward players were well off it. Ruben probably had his worst game of the season, Wootton was anonymous, Taylor never got involved. Roberts looked most likely but was very tightly marked.

I’d have liked us to try something different before they killed the game with a second. Probably Mitchell on, a genuine front two both with a bit of presence and try and get the ball in the box a bit more. I like our style as plan a, but it’s not always going to work and we need to be able to react when it doesn’t.

We played with 4 full backs and only one real central defender at Eastleigh, Brindley and Chicksen are decent but not great at defending high balls. We struggle when Cameron or even Lacey don't play.

Mitchell is not good enough. We need a player like Kristian Dennis who can put the half chances into the back of the net...

For that we need the owners to stump up circa £150,000 to sign a 28/29 year old goalscorer and IB to adopt a different formation and style of play.

I see Dennis is still sat on the bench each and every game up in Scotland.

Maybe so but as you know we actually went backwards and at some pace when we had Dennis in our squad. People can put that down to our former manager obviously but we aren't alone in that statement.

    Plus he didn't come cheap.

Its not surprising that we went backwards with the likes of Oxlaid Chamberlain, Bakayogo, Kellett , Crawford and Fitzsimons in the squad..

Very true although if memory serves me right only Fitzsimmons played any number of games in the decline.

Ahhhh the recent pre-#radar days of recruitment.

I have just watched the 2 awful goals they scored and watched us peppering their goal with nothing more than a few speculative strikes from the edge of the box in the highlights. How many games have we now lost to awful goals like this where we get out muscled at set pieces by some big fella who shoe horns it into the onion bag any which way but loose? The mind boggles. Maybe Notts County Stats nice person can compile a list and send it to Brothers Reedtz. There seems to be at least one game a month like this. Awful.
