Burch ball is fantastic to watch in full flow but it doesn't come off often enough, according to Andy sounds like a revert back to Ardley ball last night and Saturday.

Who's calling for a new manager? Anyway IB is a 'coach' which I have no problem with, we need a director of football type who knows the league and how to get out of it and work with IB to achieve this, don't read what you want to see.

Shortly before that game Notts were also 2-1 down v Aldershot and won 3-2. I think yesterday’s result was creditable but, listening to the game, I got the sense that with a bit more application Notts could have got 3 points. It is the no shows on the road at Eastleigh, Altrincham and implosion at Halifax which are most disappointing. Even in a league where most sides are capable of beating each other I think Notts are not quite good enough to get the automatic place and I am already consigned to the play offs. Whilst the starting 11 can compete I looked at the subs bench last night and thought we were threadbare. Mitchell and Francis have not impressed me, so far, and, unfortunately, for Eli Sam his scorpion back kick goal may be the last memory of him that any Notts fan will have.
    Excellent post, spot on.

It's hard to read this without it being that you are thinking about a new manager:

'Just think about having someone around who knows this league, the teams, the players who could see something different to a CSV file and a maths channel!'

Perhaps you are referring to a D of F, but if so, it's hard to see how IB would stay if his way of playing was over-ruled.

IB is playing the way the owners want him to, that’s why he was given the job. I’d agree we are probably a couple of good signings short of being unbeatable in this league but at the moment we don’t have them.

The reason Rúben has raised so much interest is because of IB which means he’s proved he can improve a player. Rúben’s value will be over inflated come January which again means IB has done his job well should the owners decide to cash in. That said they might actually have a couple of league players in their crosshairs come January and might want to keep Rúben for the final push for promotion. Either way IB is here for the long term.

It was a game we should have won. We were messing about passing the ball across the back like a hot potatoe whilst under pressure. We are not going to get out of this league playing suicidal football..

and that's the problem he needs someone around him who has taken teams out of this league to learn from IMO

Interesting a DoF who is an expert at NL and has a recent NL promotion on his CV.

I suspect that will be tough to find if something the owners decided they needed.

Maybe a more experienced No2 is a more likely shout?

I thought Stall made a very interesting point about Boreham Stiff and how they have finished up 2nd in the league with crowds under 1,000. He said they were in an ideal position to pick up the players with London area clubs that can't quite make their squads but don't want to move out of London.
