Unfortunately it looks like its come to that, the two of you (sorry, you have to be bracketed together) have simply worn the rest of us out, your chronic repitition and teacher-style dressings down and Swales' blitzkreig tactics haven't shifted hearts and minds an iota (in fact they've moved my POV from centre AWAY from you) but you HAVE I repeat worn us out which I guess is an achievement of sorts. We should have known way back in 2016 with the 37% squabble. I found it strange when GP turned into an online cynic but I think I get it now, he just cracked a few years before I did

Oh for goodness sake, Andy...grow up.
Did I start the thread? No. Am I responsible for the 2343 replies? Hardly. And who’s this ‘us’? There’s only you, GP and Tricky who have been regular defenders of Brexit or the Government.
‘Chronic repetition’? We’ve only been debating the current issue about dual standards for a few days.
‘Teacher-style dressing downs’? How did I know that one would come up? Maybe you just mean not kowtowing to you.
‘Swale’s blitzkreig tactics’? I think he’s been a model of restraint over the last few days given some of what’s been said in reply.
I actually don’t come on here to ‘fight’ but it’s a ‘forum’...a place to ‘debate’ and exchange views...if the outcome of those exchanges doesn’t suit you then tough, but please don’t try and ‘mask’ what is going wrong in this country by claiming to be ‘worn out’...that’s just the equivalent of the kid in the playground taking his ball home because he’s losing.

rA, I will say just this one thing and then return to avoiding these subjects. You do not permit debate, its your view and that's it. Everyone else is just wrong. Perhaps if there were actually more debate on open topics and not one eyed opinion stating, things might be smoother, but thats not your way. You enter debate with a totally closed mind, convinced of your facts, and it doesn't matter a jot what anyone else says or thinks (unless they agree wholeheartedly with you). You read it somewhere, agree with it, so it must be unchallengeable.

I'm not saying you're wrong on this one, I think its a poor show, but ffs, its a year ago and hardly going to matter now. Yep, just another cudgel to beat your bete noir with, be careful you don't wear yourself out with all the self righteous indignation: last time I noticed your opinions were out of alignment with those of the voting public!

I’m sorry you feel like that, GP...but I’m not sure how I ‘do not permit debate’.
This is a forum which takes an entirely written form. You cannot talk over people or shut people up in such a situation.
Everyone on here, not just me, thinks they’re right...it really doesn’t matter whether it’s about the PM, Mel Morris, Covid, the possible liquidation of DCFC or Wayne Rooney...we come on here to express our views and opinions because they are what we believe.

Sometimes I find myself on the wrong end of you, AF and Tricky and none of you show any reluctance to dish it out a bit when it suits you. On this occasion the debate has been largely between Swale and myself v AF with you chipping in occasionally from the sidelines in your inimitable way. AF has, imo, come off second best mainly because he’s seeking to defend the indefensible.

Ironically both you and Andy have conceded that, on this issue, you are both in broad agreement about the behaviour of Government and yet it has, again, led to apparent fall out.

I don’t think I ‘enter debate with a totally closed mind’ and I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve used the abbreviation ‘imo’ or deferred to you over subjects relating to accountancy/economics.
As for my opinions being ‘out of alignment with those of the voting public’, do you really think I could care less about that? This has got nothing to do with popularity. Doubtless many more people read the Sun than the Independent but I know which publication I take more notice of and if you now end your involvement in this debate that’s entirely up to you...nothing at all to do with me not ‘permitting debate’.

Says the guy who generally posts his opinion as if its a fact! Oh come on, you and AF dish it out, get it back and then prevaricate, or resort to insults or childish whining or nit picking when unable to back up your assertions.

I get it you don't like to admit being wrong, but when the evidence suggests you are, perhaps some humility is called for?

I know one can't and shouldn't expect a politician to be aware of everything, but even a ****ager would know that statement was utter *******s. At the moment, its an utter shambles, yet the fools will still vote these people in again and again.

Which merely reveals that you either lie a lot, are unable to understand simple facts or simply refuse to acknowledge when you are wrong. Much like a fair proportion of the electorate in that case.

Still I accept your surrender, I never for one moment thought that your view would change as a result of what I've said, but at least you realise your arguments on many things don't stand up in the face of actual evidence.

... and with this 80 seat majority they are going to push through legislation that will ensure they remain in power.

Voter ID necessary, unreasonable IMO as, as far as I'm aware, there is no legal obligation in the UK to have Photo ID in the first place (In NL everybody over 14 has to have photo ID at all times)

Boundary changes to ensure they win a majority of seats.

    Abandoning the Human Rights Act.

Add all the sleaze on top and you have an unruly bunch of vagabonds who don't give a 5h1t about the rest of the population. I decided long ago not to return to the UK to live. This bunch of Jodrells reinforcing that was such an excellent decision.
