Well done for completely misinterpreting an entire post. Some effort that, give yourself a pat on the back. I'm not anti vaccine. Did I state that I was? NO!

I'm anti Covid passport. Why? Because they're a pointless, divisive and needless layer of bureaucracy.

Why? Because as you've so eloquently pointed out......the vaccine doesn't prevent transmission. I never stated anyone said that it would. Ever.

The point of my previous post was that having an app on your phone isn't going to prevent you from catching and transmitting Covid any more than the vaccine will.

You can be unvaccinated and potentially infected, open an LFT test packet, upload the serial number and enter a negative result having not even taken the test and go about your daily life as if you were vaccinated and not infected.

This renders the Covid passport utterly pointless beyond being a membership badge (ID Card!) for the double vaccinated.

They're of little use in preventing transmission as they're already discovering in Scotland. Have a nice day.

Lucky you. My first two jabs were given by a pair of bull dike paramedics and my booster was a pri ck from a male pharmacist. Everyone needs loving though and I thank them all the same 😊 .

And you've completely missed the point of it all. The covid pass is about lowering the amount of mass gatherings in public areas where there are people unvaccinated or those who haven't had a negative test. The idea being TO REDUCE TRANSMISSION. If it does that, the healthcare system can likely cope with the levels of covid out there.

You constantly read this nonsense rhetoric that if something isn't perfect, it's useless. But all measures against covid-19 spread are imperfect, like a Swiss cheese of protection. Put them together and they help.

You may find a small number of people who find their way around it, others it will just prompt them that if they've already opened the packet they'll just do the test. If it makes 10% impact for limited upheaval then it's useful.

I'll concede there are occasions when I miss part of a point but I can assure you I never miss the whole point of anything. Ever. That's because I'm not stupid.

I understand the concept of Covid passports. I also understand they're easily bypassed and do not in themselves prevent transmission, as explained, which is why I question their rationale and implementation.

I never stated Covid passports are useless. Having previously listed their uses I concluded they're of little use and pointless.

Useless and pointless are separate concepts. CPs have a use but they're rendered largely pointless by a swerve. A very simple one you'd have to be simple to avoid let alone miss completely.

I don't for one second believe a significant amount of the unvaccinated will be prompted to stick swabs around their tonsils and up their noses re LFT when they don't need to. Having thus far successfully avoided the vaccine itself it's highly unlikely.

If you believe otherwise I'm afraid you are delusional. That or you have more faith than I do in the sense of responsibility found in much of our society. It's not just the unvaccinated we have to worry about in that sense either as being vaccinated doesn't automatically render you responsible.

The point I'm making to myself (if not very successfully to you) is that your Swiss cheese has a massive hole running straight through the middle. That hole isn't divisive in itself but not everyone likes the cheese surrounding Covid passports.

They have the potential to create a two tier system of access to services and every day life. Some would suggest that's a good thing. Get the jabs or don't. Have full access to your life or don't.

I'm pro vaccine but I'm also pro choice and anti restrictions. We've gone through more than enough of those already for a virus that isn't going anywhere fast.

I'm not after having my cake and eating it either. I'm double jabbed and I've had the booster. I just want to live life hassle free and mingle with others who may or may not have been vaccinated. I made the choice of having the vaccination, the status of others is of no real concern to me as I live that life.

If the health system can't cope by now it's exactly where it was prior to this pandemic; in need of reform. I would imagine this is achievable for minds far greater than ours without reforming society by proxy.

I'm going to have to leave things there as believe it or not despite having found time to write this mini novel it's my great fortune to have something more productive to do with my day. Again, I hope you have a nice one.

    Top post Danny, spot on.

Yellow stars may come in fashion soon…

(Also pro vaccine, double jabbed, booster jab booked week 2 next year, not allowed to take it earlier, 6 months must have passed since # 2)

(My best protection though is probably having had C-19 late April this year)

    Hope you’re well btw! 😊

I fear another lock down cometh. Gove as hinted. You will need a booster to protect you from Omicron as being double-vaxxed isn’t enough. So they are going to have to lock us up again until enough people have been boosted. Lots of rumours swirling around social media that it could even come next week. Will 3 jabs be enough? The government as ordered enough of this stuff for at least another 3 jabs each next year.

Be careful opening the last one Phil, there's a shot of Pfizer in it.
