    1st miss

Haven’t missed a game on the tube/pub since we were back in prem. Missed this one. Have a home near Mayfield Kentucky. A 140 mph tornado was on the ground 200 miles last night. Direct hit to the town. It’s basically gone. 50 dead and another 50 missing in a city of 10k.

Missed me by 10 miles. Hid in a closet for 30 minutes with my dog and a helmet on my head. Some videos on the web including a drone video. No power, water, cell or internet. Debris is everywhere. It was supposedly 30,000 ft in the atmosphere.

I think tornados are somewhat unique to North America but not sure.

Does sound like we gave them a game.

    Crikey!

I was listening to some of the coverage on the radio up here and you got seriously whacked.

All the best to you and yours and the people of Kentucky. There are odd “twisters” up here, but I don’t think we get anything like you do other than the odd remnants of hurricanes. Touch wood.

I’m guessing global warming isn’t going to help with wild weather going forward.

You missed a competitive game that had a sting in the tail, but the lads did play well.

    Orgs,
My dog was solid throughout the night. He’s a 4 yr old Springer. He knew it was coming. They have that 6th sense. Know you can appreciate that.

It was eerie to see the local TV coverage. The weatherman is fantastic and has access to the state of art Doppler. The detail is so good you coukd see the updates every 2 minutes. Hewould identify street names and show the debris field on the screen. At that point it was a mile wide, 150mph and moving at 60 mph. Like watching a train coming down the track at you. An hour out I knew we were in real trouble. Lost power and cell a half hour out. Knew it would hit within 10 miles. It veered a little south after Mayfield.

Glad the worst of it missed you.

You’re totally right about dogs seeming to know what’s going on before we do. Not weather related, but my pair sensed the presence of a black bear a few weeks back when I was out in the woods behind here checking out logging trails. Luckily they are smart enough to know when (and how) to react to genuine threats and we left pronto.

Back to your real disaster though. I can only imagine the carnage those sort of wind speeds could cause. Not the best time of year to have to sort such things out either.

Puts a stupid penalty decision into focus.

    Stay safe mate.

Too far away to be the same system, but we’re getting strong thunderstorms and 50mph gusts here for the next couple of hours.

Not a good thing when you have hundred year old sugar maples right next to the house.

Nothing compared to you - wind energy squares with wind speed.

Again, stay safe and my condolences to anyone affected in KY.

Geez Spaldy! 🤐 Saw the news coverage of it over here, and certainly caused havoc. We have cylclones which take time to travel through and can be quite destructive, but those hurricanes and tornadoes that you get there are something else. They seem to happen so quickly in comparison. Hope everyone recovers as soon as possible, and thoughts are with you all. 👍

Yikes - hope you are safe and that you can get back to some form of normality soon.

We played with verve and spirit and some of our football was crisp and precise. Bar giving away the pen Klich looked a little more like the Klich of old too.

We were robbed of a deserved point spaldy - lads put in a shift and its just a shame all their goals came from our mistakes.

    Stay safe pal.

Spaldy/Orgoner good to hear you are OK, hopefully things gets restored to normal asap not that it ever will be for those who lost family. You are right about the power of them and also the perceptive powers of animals. I was on the Gulf Coast when one came through, all the marine life appeared to have moved into the intercoastal in anticipation; I watched it hit land stripping a building site of everything then lift a whole 30ft trailer in the air and throw it like a toy.

That's terrible I couldn't sleep as usual and be watching it unfold.MAn one of them was huge. The whole weather system is fd.
Here we are noticing that the days are cool but nights get real hot. Cyclones here are known to hit up north in the tropical climate.
One hit Darwin years ago and completely gutted it. But we don't get them at the rate you guys get.
They learned the lesson and buildings are built to withstand them now not sure what they can do over there perhaps they are just too powerful.
Anyway glad your ok and stay safe.
