No, but we collectively decided against that in times where Omicron was not thought of as a Covid variant. But that is a bunch of us who have all had or due our boosters and i respect that the younger generations have less risks in the donts list! My reading of last weeks advice, was not anywhere near cancellation of planned events.

You do though have to ask how many plans were changed last weekend, and my wife and i went out to a restaurant on Friday where one work get together followed another at more that one table! Based on the music that was playing, i expect many in there also followed us to the Caird Hall.

So collectively, before Covid-19 went t!ts up again with the new variant, you & your work mates made the decision to cancel your staff Christmas party? Yet Utd, in the midst of the new Omicron variant taking off & beginning to ravage its way through football clubs up & down the country, decided that jumping on the team bus for a p!ss up in Newcastle was still a good idea. 😂😂😂

Exactly,l, and I can't believe anyone would think this is ok. 🤔

Was it Newcastle? Not that it matters but I heard it was elsewhere.

Nah, plans never even got off the ground as we said nae party way before it was taps aff, suns oot!

Last week, nobody was told point blank to stop their party plans, and i accept that people half my age have a different outlook to this virus. My current self would make my excuses and let them get on with it, but half my age im gettin on it!

Dundee United have cancelled training ahead of Saturday's match against Rangers after one player tested positive for Covid.

The club are awaiting further PCR test results, however, the clash at Ibrox is still expected to go ahead.

SPFL rules state teams must have 13 fit players including a goalkeeper for a match to take place and further to that, 10 of the players must be over 18-years old.

It is understood the team had a Christmas night out in Newcastle at the weekend following their defeat to Livingston.

Dundee United are fourth in the Premiership after an impressive start to the season under manager Thomas Courts.
    And here it begins

Yeah, but when your a professional sport team who has already been given a lot of special dispensation over the past year or two, you make sure you don't take the piss

The party will be seen as an error of judgement. Not against any rules however. Surprised club allowed it despite that, but ultimately a judgement call. No idea the vaccination status of our players etc.

That said, not sure the party has any relevance to the reporting of the story. Could suggest it is sensationalising the facts. One positive test can happen anytime. Further PCRs needed in view of current guidelines. No different to any other team's COVID issues to me.

Hopefully all involved/infected are ok. That is the most important thing.

It's a coincidence that we have positive cases after a part night in Newcastle? 🤔
