    looks like im in the minority that cant see them doing anything wrong here and have been really unlucky

    no one said all nights out are cancelled, pubs and clubs arent closed so why would they cancel? because of a recommendation?

    Of course it's different, nightclubs are far more densely populated than supermarkets or (most likely outdoor) Christmas markets. That's why they were the last businesses allowed to reopen after lockdown.
