Can't see that should be O/T
That's a fair point m_m but I think most of us would agree that it ceased to be about that a long time ago. If it gets back to the original topic it is a simple process to remove the 'O/T:-' though.

To be open, unless FootyMad demands the removal of any public health misinformation/disinformation it is a difficult call for a mere moderator to make, regardless of my personal opinions. If they did give guidance I'd hope they took action themselves rather than passing the responsibility on to unpaid volunteers.

UTM has a great Notts website which we all admire and has been a valued contributor on here for donkeys' years. If I was to ban him just for stating his opinions I think that would make me a censor, rather than a moderator, and that's not how I interpret the role.
    Well said Swale, very wise.

There's currently no evidence that Omicron is a milder infection than Delta, that's from a new study released yesterday by Imperial College London.
I wouldn't worry about it cher, next week some medical "expert" will tell us the latest research reveals that all present knowledge of Omnicromy is exactly as it was first thought two weeks ago next week. No, this time I mean it!

So go get a booster, don't get a booster. Under 18s are safe, no they aren't, pensioners are except any that has/hasn't had the Pfizer - I mean the Moderna - no, no, I mean the Astro Zebra.

    Cheers Swale,

My attitude to all of this probably comes from being at a very impressionable age in the school year of 1977/78. Going along with the crowd that suddenly believe in something they didn't believe in yesterday, acting all out of character, makes me feel very uncomfortable.

We know the variant is more transmissible. This doesn't have to be a bad thing if the virus is milder. A natural immune response would be the best booster, especially for the less vulnerable .Evidence in South Africa seems to be showing the virus is less dangerous although this is by know means set in stone

1 person dying so far WITH omicron variant not FROM the variant is one too many but how many lives are being lost due to patience not receiving much needed treatments and care because staff are being asked to booster millions of people

Do we know who this person who died with it was yet? There was a bizarre call to a radio station the other day from somebody claiming to know somebody who'd died of it who was 70, a recluse and had never worked, but despite this he was said to be fit and well and naturally a conspiracy theorist. Other rumours are that the deceased was 94 years old. In which case, it's no age to go is it.

I'm quite keen to be exposed to it now, I know what Covid feels like so I'll know if it's not just a regular common cold.

Some guys on Facebook were blaming Agueros retirement on covid and others said it caused HIV. Where do they get this rubbish from?

Trevor Sinclair was recently cut off on talksport for trying to ask the question about jabs and heart problems being seen on the pitch.

    Simon Jordan tweeted Dec 1
"Medical emergency in the stands #WatChe Medical emergency in the stands Southampton v Leicester …
Significant Unexplained deaths around the world
    #COVID19 #vaccine
Strange … no one seems to be discussing these things in #msm … ofcom guidelines ?

Games being stopped for supporters needing CPR in the stands and players showing great concern and then leaving the pitch is odd. At least four cases in the top 2 tiers that I know of in the past few months, and that's never happened before AFAIA, Supporters requiring CPR is nothing new but this type of over-reaction to it is and demonstrates the fear and sensitivity on this issue around football at the moment. It might just go away from this weekend onwards or it may continue or even get worse, we'll have to wait and see I suppose. I do empathise with players who are worried about it.

Agreed. I was just pointing out that the original thread wasn't O/T, in fact it was quite a useful conversation. Shame it got lost really.
