This is all a little bit off topic.

Although it doesn't apply in this instance is casual racism acceptable if it's genuinely funny? Or not?

Probably a question for a separate O/T thread or perhaps to re*****ise the dormant designated thread.

It is virtually impossible today to make a comment about anything without someone being offended. Whether you are accused of ***ism, rascism, ageism or being to fat, to thin, to big, to small, your wife your mother in law or being xenophobic. Etc.

Some of the Scottish, Welsh or Irish think it’s fair game to have a go at the English as it doesn’t matter if you offend the English.

I’ve been refused to be served in a hotel and pub on two separate occasions in 2 separate of the above countries above due to my nationality.

A few years back I flew from Prestwick where a major UK chain inside the airport were selling t shirts with ‘I’ll be supporting anyone but the English’ printed on them. I think it’s odd as well when any competition is on most of the English I know want any of the home nations to do well.

My point is banter is banter, but for some they turn it into something else when it suits.

That's exactly what happened in this case. It had nothing to do with the post, it was about who posted it.

If it helps Elite, you hide behind that thought.
It helped the Yorkshire cricketers to feel okay about banter.

Yep I’m sure Azeem Rafiq has too with his comments that were conveniently forgot about very quickly, unless you are 100% squeaky clean…

    Quite an interesting thread.

Where is the borderline between banter and racism? Personally I really dislike the term which was used, but I don't think it was made in a racist way, ie prejudiced or antagonistic.

Gentlemen I believe this debate has now reached and passed the point which qualifies for...... The Handbag Thread!

Tbh i'm a little surprised nobody else has spotted and highlighted this by now.

Clearly one rule for them, one rule for everyone else.

Now that sure does sound familiar lol Art imitating life sadly.

Sorry. I must have missed the bit where you were made a moderator.

Not much to add to the original topic if the news is to be believed. Good chance it will be postponed or played behind closed doors.
