ah yes, but if Boris required, lets say, pubs to close at 9pm, I wonder whether the bars in the House of Westminster would still, nonetheless, stay open until midnight?

Agree with Swale re green, environmental point. Agree with Tricky re control of "boaters" as the Americans used to call the Vietnamese "economic refugees"... Perhaps ecogees to create a new portmanteau word.

But more to the point I don't think it is appropriate to verbally abuse any other poster on this site simply because you don't agree with their opinion, you dumb sh*t :-)
If a poster repeatedly posts crap he/she (after all we don't know Thicky's gender) has gleaned from dubious websites, if they express an opinion which is clearly a parroting the falsehoods put out by this government campaign and dubious youtubers. If they continue to ignore actual demonstrable facts and make statements that even a half sentient human can tell is utter rubbish then regretfully one can only call them an appropriate nomenclature - dumb, stupid, thick all those epithets apply to Thicky.

He clearly hasn't a ****ing clue, and these aren't even his opinions, its just a straightforward parroting of stuff that is undeniably untrue. Thats apart from the bigoted, racist, xenophobic stuff he posts which would on most Forum's ahve seen him removed a long time ago.

Interestingly when I used to try and counter his views with polite debate, he'd disappear for weeks or just not respond and change the topic. But then that seems to be the case with all such posters who spout this garbage.

So mostly I don't bother to counter what he posts, he is an idiot, hopefully he will be stuck out in Thailand for a long time.

    Honestly, I couldn't care less.
Your all heart, just hope you and your nearest and dearest never have to face such issues. Ah well where theres no feeling there isn't usually any sense and I reckon you have proven that.

Wow, the bucky has been slurped dry again.

Just some anecdotal observations about the general/Government’s most recent handling of Covid.

Had the pleasure of attending a major theatre event over Christmas. QR codes were required to gain access but frankly, with 1700 people trying to gain entry and escape the pouring rain, checks were minimal and any glimpse of any QR code would have sufficed.

Three hours later entrance to a very crowded restaurant required no proof of anything at all in relation to Covid. All staff wore masks but obviously no customers.

Checking evidence of vaccination or testing was understandably similarly ‘light touch’ at Pride Park for the WBA game.

With schools due to return tomorrow I see Nadhim Zahawi’s school safety plans seem to centre around trying to entice retired teachers - i.e. those in their 60’s and 70’s - back into the classroom, good luck with that...(aren’t they meant to be the ‘at risk’ age group?) and having classes double up to overcome the anticipated staff shortages.
Tell you what Nadhim...why don’t we put twice as many people on buses and trains too and make hospital patients double up two to a bed too.
I genuinely thought the days of Williamson’s idiocy from this time last year had gone.

Then you are more of an optimist than I thought! Whatever the outcomes, anything positive is due to the efforts of others and in no way due to any planning or management by this utter shower of a government.

Lol...you perhaps underestimate quite how bad I thought Williamson was...and described him as being!
Wouldn’t disagree with any of your second sentence...thank goodness for the efforts of all the health, public sector, transport, shop and hospitality workers etc to whom we are all indebted.

I suspect the country will have reached a decision on ‘The Government’s Handling of Covid’ by about 1.00 pm tomorrow...that’s if Humpty Dumpty manages to turn up this time.

He will quit within a month
They know he has to go, before it becomes unsavable

    What are his choices?

    1. Bluster and lie his way through PMQs as usual by spluttering crap that doesn't address the question asked - very likely
    2. Admit to being there, being wrong, apologise to the House and the country and hope it's enough to save his sorry ass - highly unlikely
    3. Pre-empt Starmer's strike by saying he had made an enormous cock up and will be going to see the Queen immediately after PMQs to tender his resignation - do we expect a blue moon this evening?
